ETA: oh, no, she did compete in 2011-2012! She sat out only one season (2012-2013). It is weird, it feels like much longer than that! So they still may not release her.

She can't complain to the ISU: the Federation she wants to skate for has to do it on her behalf. If they want to piss off the Russian Federation.

Parts of this article is translated into English and summarized here: http://fskating.com/2013/05/renewed-...w-heights.html

On May 10 Nina Mozer is bringing 5 pairs to train in New Jersey and work on new programs: http://www.allsportinfo.ru/index.php?id=71104
The 3 senior pairs are Tatiana Volosozhar / Maxim Trankov, Vera Bazarova / Yuri Larionov and Ksenia Stolbova / Fedor Klimov; the two junior teams are Lina Fedorova / Maxim Miroshkin and Evgenia Tarasov / Vladimir Morozov (sounds like both teams are returning to the JGP).

Russian news video feature on Elena Berezhnaya: http://www.vesti.ru/only_video.html?vid=507341
What are the names of the young pair team she is shown coaching? Her children (with Steven Cousins) -- son Tristan, age 5 and a half, and daughter Sofia Diana (Sonia), 3 going on 4 -- are also shown.

(I've cross-posted this link in the skaters' babies & kids thread in the Trash Can.)

Thanks! I couldn't catch their names in Cyrillic on the screen.

that Artur Gachinski didn't want to reveal his FS music in this brief interview when we know what it is already : http://fsrussia.ru/news/585_artur-ga...redlozhil-sam/

    Fancam ahoy!

The lighting is awkward so Artur is pretty obscured for most of it, but it does look interesting. His jumps look solid. I will give it a cautious "like" at this stage.

I also noticed Matveev, the choreographer, standing by. He had choreographed some great programs for Elena & Anton.

What level is this young pair at? Junior?

Why wouldn't he just reveal it? There is no possibility of changing?

New short article on Vera Bazarova & Yuri Larionov. Reads:-

Russian figure skater Yuri Larionov, who performs in a pair with Vera Bazarova, shared thoughts on the work with a new coach Nina Mozer and about main goals for the Olympic season.

“We are faced with a new system of training but the atmosphere that prevails in the group really motivates for work. We are used to be constantly alone.”

^^^ I believe the original Bazarova/Larionova interview (Russian article) is here: http://www.team-russia2014.ru/article/10525.html

Alexei Gorshkov talks about Riazanova/Tkachenko (they will return to work with Shpilband for the summer): http://www.team-russia2014.ru/article/10553.html

I think this Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov article says the pair (5th at 2013 Junior Worlds) is returning to the JGP and will compete senior at the Winter Universiade (December 2013 in Trentino, Italy): http://www.team-russia2014.ru/article/10525.html

They have to use different patterns. Juniors and Seniors skate different compulsory dances.

Poor Artur is a little confused - though he's not specifically talking about the long program, unless Google Translate has missed something. Either way, I like the way he talks about it, seems to feel ownership over this program already.

This seems to be a more substantive interview with Alexei Gorshkov about Riazanova/Tkachenko's new programs as well as some of his other dance teams, including the JGP team of Evgenia Kosigina/Nikolai Moroshkin (6th at 2013 Junior Worlds): http://fsrussia.ru/news/587_aleksej-...pecialistov--/
It sounds like R/T may compete at least one program in the Lake Placid dance competition (July 31-August 3).

    V. Piseev says that Polina Shelepen and Ivan Bariev were cleared by Russian Figure Skating Federation to skate for Israel and Italy, respectively. He says that they both obtained citizenship of their respective countries and an approval of National Federations.

    http://fsrussia.ru/news/591_valentin...nomu-kataniyu/

Also, Sergei Voronov has switched from Morozov to Eteri Tutberidze, and Kamilla Gainetdinova/Ivan Bich are now coached by Artur Dmitriev.

So, Russia would not release Lubov to France, but had no problems releasing skaters to Israel and Italy. I don't buy the citizenship argument at all and under COP we won't know what the Israeli and Italian jusges do.

I thought someone posted here a while ago that they split up after not very successful junior worlds?
