Well, they did Nebelhorn in 2009, so I would think they would be there again this year. I hope so!!

Yeah, I'm almost assuming they'll go to Nebelhorn again too.

What GP events will they choose? Here's Sylvia's list from the Grand Prix thread in GSD:

18 - 20 Oct. Hilton HHonors Skate America, Detroit, Michigan, USA

25 - 27 Oct. Skate Canada International, St. John, New Brunswick, Canada

1 - 3 Nov. Cup of China, Beijing, China

    8 - 10 Nov. NHK Trophy, Tokyo , Japan

    15 - 17 Nov. Trophee Bompard, Paris , France

22 - 24 Nov. Rostelecom Cup, Moscow, Russia

5 - 8 Dec. Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final (Combined Juniors and Seniors), Fukuoka, Japan

Definitely SA. Does the rule about how the top 3 at Worlds can't meet still stand? If so, SC and CoR are most likely out (I'll never call it Rostelecom Cup ). I'd love to see them do TEB since it's been so long and it's Paris. Only downside is if they want more time between their last GP event and the GPF to incorporate judges' feedback. But if they do an early event in the summer, any SA feedback will already be the 2nd round, plenty of time before the GPF. But then D/W not being at NHK feels weird.

I vote for that one as well!

Oh I just realized the GPF is in Japan. I feel like a season isn't complete without one trip to Japan for D/W, so that satisfies it!

I'll be interested to see what second event they choose. Bobrova & Soloviev will be at COR, Tessa & Scott at SC, so the choices are Paris, China & NHK.

Two of those, they've never won: Paris & China. NHK is a favorite venue for them. So who knows.

I'll bet a cookie that it won't be Utah though; they will want to get some real International feedback, and for that they'll have to be doing one of the bigger Senior B's in Europe; Nebelhorn, which is the Olympic qualification event, Finlandia, or maybe Nepela. I bet that they don't schedule V&M at the same event, either..

Right now my guess would be SA and TEB for GP assignments and if they do a Senior B, Nebelhorn. Tessa and Scott would probably do Finlandia again. Or maybe they'll switch it up.

I have often wondered how their parents coped with competition. I get so nervous that sometimes I can barely watch! That was a lovely article. Thanks for sharing.

For a quick change in topic - I remember this time last year how thrilled I was to see Meryl and Charlie throw it down at WTT in Japan. It looks like Madison and Evan have carried the torch to win the ice dance event. In the press covering their win, they reveal their free dance for the Olympic Season is Les Miserable ("The team will now turn its attention to their ultimate goal of making the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team and announced they will skate their 2013-14 free dance to music from “Les Miserables.”) I wonder if Igor encouraged them to announce so early? I wonder how Marina will react to such an early announcement? When do you think Meryl and Charlie will announce?

So we got Rachmaninof, Carmen and Dr. Zhivago from Igor and next season he will give us Les Mis. So I guess we can say that Igor got the Skating's Greatest Hits CD in the seperation?

Is it wrong that I so badly want Meryl and Charlie to skate to music from Game of Thrones? (still hold out a dream for Inception's Time, too!)
Anyways, I finally got into the series, and I keep listening to the theme music and I'm imagining them..literally seeing the steps in my friggin' head. The outfits would be glorious if done right..and the theme "Game of Thrones" seems fit for the season

    Winter is coming

    Charlie thinks so, too)
.@Evan_Bates 3 different dance teams for 3 team trophy events. Each with a victory! Keeping the streak alive for the US!

I am thinking - could it be that Igor wanted C/B to announce the music choice so early to insure that Meryl and Charlie don't take it? I don't actually think they would, but Igor could believe it to be a probable choice for them. Probably he understood that it wouldn't be a good idea for Madison and Evan to have the same music as Meryl and Charlie after all (although, seriously speaking, I don't think that choosing the same music/theme as Tessa and Scott hurt Cappellini/Lanotte that much). Of course, some other dance team could choose it as well.

It makes me wonder whether Les Mis was talked about for one of the Canton teams programs for the Olympic year last year?

If so, it makes perfect sense that Igor would stake his claim early.
