It's an old costume from last year. He'll probably get a new one for next season.

Thanks everyone for the posts and the video links. I did not have time to follow the event and am playing catch up

New article entitled 'Gardena Discovers New Faces'. Reads:-

This year, the American and Japanese skaters dominated at Gardena. The 14-years old Polina Edmunds, this season´s U.S. national Junior Champion, won the Junior ladies event with 158.45 points and showing two new programs.

Her short program is to a selection of latin music, free skating is to the music by E. Grieg. Polina landed 5 triples in a free skate, including two triple-triple combitations. Her steps and spins got positive GOE. She has a very elegant style of skating. Jordan Moeller (USA) skated to victory in Junior men´s event with a total score of 195,67 points, impressing with strong level 4 on spins and level 3 on steps.

Apparently yes. According to the Gardena Spring Trophy article posted by Maofan7 (thanks!): "Her [Edmunds'] short program is to a selection of latin music, free skating is to the music by E. Grieg."

Edmunds' new Team USA bio on IN lists her 2012-13 season music: http://web.icenetwork.com/skaters/de...=101693&mode=I
SP Music: "Two Guitars" (Russian gypsy folk)
FS Music: "Romeo and Juliet" by Nino Rota

Icenetwork's Gardena recap article assumed that Edmunds skated to her 2012-13 FS music: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/artic...&vkey=ice_news

I am in touch with someone from the host club, Eisclub Gardena, who has informed me that "the videoman will within some days add all videos (with permission) on YouTube."

The skaters (or the parents of the under 18-year-olds) have to sign a permission form in order for their videos to be uploaded to YouTube. Hopefully we'll get to see the programs of all the Junior and Novice medalists!

Thanks for posting the links! Both Polina Edmunds and Karen Chen debuted new free skates here. Polina's is to Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg - "Solveig's Song" and "Morning Mood." Karen's is to the theme from The Godfather with a Carmen feel/beat.

So the opening thing must have just been a connecting move. I was wondering if it got called as a flip...since it appeared to be a stylized one. Maybe it was only a half rotation, not a full one, so it isn't really a jump.

Alisson doesn't turn 16 until September, so I'm assuming that it'll be definitely Melissa Bulanhagui who will attempting to qualify for an Olympic spot at Nebelhorn, correct? At this point, Alisson is actually in better form (now with a 3 lutz in both the SP and FS).

Are you certain that's not Chen's Novice FS from 2012? IIRC, she skated to The Godfather for her FS last season, and the dress looks familiar too. She needed a Novice-length FS here so I wouldn't be surprised if she used her old one. Nathan Chen did the same thing last year when he competed in Advanced Novice Boys in a spring international event.

Does anyone know how tall Polina Edmunds is? She is so slim, she might not be as tall I would think. Thanks!

Isnt she 5' 5 now? That is ineed quite tall for a 15 year old girl. But then I am short.

Eta now I dont remember which source I got her height from. Hmmm

In this group photo of the gold medalists, Edmunds and Carolina Kostner look fairly similar in height: http://www.flickr.com/photos/valgard...57633165355006
Kostner is reported to be around 5'7" and Edmunds is wearing her skates, so around 5'5" seems right for her. Edmunds will have an official ISU bio for the JGP later this year; her new Team USA bio on IN doesn't list her height at this time.

Polina is tall but judging from podium pictures at Nationals, Barbie Long is around an inch taller even. But in the Skating Spectacular Gala Edmunds was standing with the senior ladies medalists and she looked a little taller than Gracie Gold but not quite as tall as Agnes Zawadzki. So 5'5" or 5'6" is probably right, which also means Barbie Long must be quite tall by now, maybe pushing 5'7"
