That reminded me of Kate Winslet's "it's not a shampoo bottle now!" line - it seemed so calculated and phony. Winslet was another actress criticized for what some people perceived wanting the recognition she received a bit too much.
I liked Anne Hathaway in the past, and felt she was underrated at times, but I felt she felt victim to "must have an Oscar" syndrome, which doesn't do anyone any good. Of course actors want recognition, but when they are too obvious about seeking it, it doesn't go over well.
Valentino did screw up.
