I am in the K&C at the 1980 Olympics telling Frank Carroll he will have a male skater from KAZ with a 4T, 3A-3T and a World Silver going into the 2014 Olympics ...
This question underscores the absurdity of having the components scored on an absolute vs. relative scale.
Clearly we all miss ranking and ordinals, because hierarchy and rankings are what skating thrives on.
Dorothy Hamill gets my vote!
DH - and that's just my opinion
Dorothy moved like buttah. I'm curious about how many of the poll respondents who have seen both of them skate in their prime voted for one vs. the other.
Would Shizuka done well?
Hamill without question. Pure edges. Even today, you can see the quality of her technique.
Definitely Dorothy Hamill. Unbelievably smooth edge work.
Dorothy Hamill.
Then Shizuka Arakawa and Yu-Na Kim.
