I just posted a link to the BBC item on the Royalty thread:

ok, mods can you close this?
I am glad you posted this in its own thread as I, and I am sure many others, would never have seen it in the Royalty Thread. I hope it is just a stomach bug and that she feels better very soon.

It is a pretty big deal for HMQ to be admitted to hospital so lets keep this one open for now.
Inspiring Mirai Nagasu!
As is stated in the link I posted this is just a precaution. It is very rare for her to be sick and for her to cancel/pospone engagements but gastroenteritis can be nasty at her age so I can understand the caution. Here's hoping this is just a precaution and she will be back to full health soon.
I hope she is feeling better soon.
Hope the Queen is feeling better soon. Any illness at her age needs to be watched very closely.
I hope she recovers quickly, she has actually been unwell for a few days now, cancelling engagements, which is so very unlike her![]()

I hope a certain Australian radio station stays out of this.

BARK LESS. WAG MORE.
I'm sorry to hear this news. I hope Queen Elizabeth recovers soon. Thanks for posting this news in a separate thread.

You know she's feeling rather ill when she agrees to go to hospital! That can take the stuffing out of anyone, but it's especially dangerous the older you get.
Get Better Lizzy!!
While checking in to a hospital makes it seems serious (no house calls at the Palace?), perhaps a good sign is that her grandsons and heirs were in Switzerland for the weekend attending a wedding.
CBC feels she is being released now. They have live shots of her car and a police escort at the back of the hospital. No sign of any other activity as yet though.
According to the BBC she has been relaesed and is probably on route back to Windsor Castle to continue to rest.

At 86 - soon to be 87 - this sounds it was just a precautionary measure more then anything.
Good heavens I ended up in the hospital with this in fifth grade. I spent three or four horrible days at home with this before seeing the doc and being admitted to the hospital. I never knew what caused it and I would not wish this on my worst enemy. {{ Queen Elizabeth }} (hugging from a respectful distance)
