That is such bad timing! Hope she heals fully for the Olympic season.

I hate sounding cynical but honestly this is Laura Lepistö all over again. And I refuse to get my hopes up about Kiira ever being able to return because that's what I kept hoping for with Laura and look how that turned out....

So as a self-coping mechanism () - bring on the juniors! At least there are a few good ones.

It sucks badly. After such a good opening to the season, this is so frustrating and sad!

Dear Hanna, I so wish that you are totally wrong! (I guess you wish that, too!) It is hard for an athlete to keep her spirits up amongst all these injuries.

So sad for Kiira, she's always lovely and has been improving steadily all these years....

Now, should Turkilla feel pressured or not? If she actually manages to grab an olympic spot at worlds it wouldn't be for her next season if Kiira recovers. But in the case Kiira doesn't this is her better chance to get the spot (a 20th place should make it) instead of Nebelhorn.

I won't lie and say I didn't expect it. At her age it's going to be a lot tougher to rebound from an injury like that. I don't know what her prospects are like for Sochi next year but at least she'll have the next few months to rest...

Best wishes to Kiira Korpi on recovering fully for the Olympic season!

I really hope she beats the odds and comes back next season. She was skating with more attack and confidence than I remember in recent years and that made her very enjoyable to watch. Fingers crossed for her!

for Korpi and even for Turkilla! She is most likely going to miss out on Sochi if Korpi returns next season.

Sounds like she had resumed training, but the pain has returned?

Darn, I was hoping she would recover fully in time. I was really looking forward to seeing her lovely programs again.
Bad news indeed. She withdrew last season from Worlds due to lingering foot and hip injuries.

Kiira has been to 2 Olympics. I hope she fully recovers and makes it to Sochi.

    Oh, what painful news
