This is an excellent choice. I think Michelle's 98 nationals overshadowed this performance, but her Goodwill Games was SPECTACULAR too. She doesn't get enough credit for the performance in hindsight but the crowd went NUTS for it. It was one of the most cohesive short programs I have ever seen. And it came at the end one of the craziest, most grueling seasons of her life? Spectacular.

Todd Eldredge's 1998 Worlds' free skate. He was doing one of his amazing combination spins towards the end of his "First Knight" program, and "Uncle" Dickie said, "This is enough to bring the audience to their feet," or something like that. It was also very heartening to see/hear him get a standing ovation before he skated in SOI (Kurt had introduced him) shortly after the 2002 SLC Olympics.

I was there for Shen/Zhao at 2003 Worlds and I will never forget it. I always wanted to be at a competition for a "moment," and although I was there for the MK performance I mentioned above, S/Z was amazing. None the less because Chinese flags were waving all over the arena, and I'm old enough to remember a time when Chinese flags flying in Washington DC was unthinkable.

For me, I was lucky of being there at the 2008 World championships in Gotheborg: the Kerr´s OD, we all were just giving them the biggest standing ovation for anybody in that championship IMO

Bezic truly knew how to pick excellent music for Lipinski's programs. I wasn't too keen on her Anastasia SP, but Lipinski's charisma could really sell anything. I wish more skaters would skate with the grit and conviction that Lipinski almost always had.

^^ I guess Midori might have won gold there under IJS, and without figures* as part of the competition -- or at least bronze since she did need more polishing artistically. She came into her own the following year. I love Midori Ito!

(* I do think figures should never have been completely eliminated as part of basic training for skaters).
