In the men's event, Max Aaron landed two quad Salchows and moved up from sixth to fourth (236.62 points), while Jeremy Abbott slipped from fourth to sixth after some errors (231.84 points).

"It felt great out there," Aaron said of his performance. "The quads are really springy. They helped keep the momentum going and helped me keep pushing."

    Excerpt from article:

Drew lives in Colorado now, so we usually write our columns at a distance of 2,000 miles from each other. Sarah flew out to Colorado last week for a visit, and along with plenty of time spent in the rink in Colorado Springs, we took a trip to Denver and Boulder. We did some photo shoots too, with Max Aaron, Britney Simpson and Matt Blackmer, and more. Watch for those shots in the future.

Aaron, by the way, brought out a pair of lemon yellow pants for his shoot, and we practically had to wrestle them out of his hands to keep him from wearing them. We think you'll like the looks he ended up in.

Shortly after the shoot, he left for Japan and the World Team Trophy.

    "I'm really excited," he said.
Scroll down the article for an update on Max's younger sister Maddie & her junior pairs partner Max Settlage.

Max posted this lovely, inspirational message on Facebook:

    Max Aaron

    Hey guys:

I apologize for sending this so late but I wanted to really think about what I was going to tell you all.

Wow! What a season it has been! I can only think that about a year ago I had quit the sport of figure skating. I was always told I would never make it anywhere. I started to doubt myself thinking that I was just wasting my time or that maybe my experience in figure skating was over. If there was one thing that I have learned from all that went on this year, and all that I have been told, it is to always believe in yourself and to never give up on your dreams.

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for supporting me through this journey. You all have helped me learn so much about myself on and off the ice. If there was one thing I could tell those that are going through a similar experience or have been through one, I would say... Put your head down and dig deep. There will always be people saying things that are not complimentary and there will always be doubters, but the more you know about yourself, the more YOU believe in yourself the farther you will go.

Thank you all again for an amazing season. I have so many amazing fans, friends and family!! Life moves fast so cherish every moment you get and hold on tight!

I love you all! Can't wait to get started on the new season!

    Max

Max's Facebook post was just so lovely, so touching. It just says so much for him that the very first thing he does is apologise to his fans for taking so long to post it!

    I posted this:

Max, you are a great role model! You're a wonderful skater, and, more importantly, a wonderful person. I'm Jewish, and I am so proud that you are such an inspirational sports champion!
