When I'm old, I don't want them to say of me, "She's so charming." I want them to say, "Be careful, I think she's armed."
Fact of Life: After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says W T F
hmmm, whoever wrote the copy for the previews for tonight's ep must have never seen this show. It's no surprise that Connor and Dave were the team leaving the race, the preview tried to make it all exciting, and then the dramatic threat of two teams made it sound like an additional two teams would be eliminated.
good for Connor and Dave for competing so well despite the injury - they probably would have been front runners if Dave hadn't gotten injured, which I wouldn't have expected at first guess. And I see that Connor is just as emotional as his dadIt comes from a good place, but I won't miss the crying.
Wheeeee Pam and Winnie!!although I wish they'd gotten a bit more exotic getaway. I am loving how their real life experiences are helping them in these tasks.
I don't know why anyone would choose the pho task - it doesn't look that hard, but anytime you've got the choice between running around to several locations and a fairly straight forward task in one place, the stationary one is probably the better bet.
Mullet and wifeWynnona is right about being a huge liability, but it's not because she's slow, or older. It's because she doesn't apparently doesn't want to be there at all!
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
I'm off to the Patrick Chan threads...where you can watch a molehill become a mountain in seconds!!!
Yeah- but do we have anything along the line of "Capitalism! Capitalism!"
I was thinking "She's a Grand Ol' Flag" might qualify.
Also- would the entire poem be considered a song? Are the last three stanzas a part of it at all? And taken as just the first stanza- it really doesn't refer directly to the country at all, it could refer to lots... So it's weird as a national anthem, but has no context. I'm not sure it is quite on the same wavelength as the Socialism song- it definetly isn't self promoting, just kind of violent. As far as western culture, the first verse of Deutschlandlied might apply, but they don't sing that anymore.
Communism was mentioned in there, too.
Communism always gets overlooked.![]()
I want to see "Dandrew" march to the Vietnamese song!![]()
I think the perkiness of the music and delivery made itfor me.
at the flag twirlers.
^ Me too! First run thru I just listened and watched the performance. Then I went back and read the words and was like ookkaayyyy.
Here's the performance in case anyone wants to see it again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD-n5b4h5d8
I watched some of the extra clips on the CBS site.
Once again, the hockey brothers had a bad cabbie and got lost twice; that's why they went from leaving the chess detour in second place to getting to the bath mat in 4th place. They also had a clip where they admitted that they are struggling with getting the best flights out as they are use to having their travel spoon fed to them by the various hockey teams they have played for. I thought that was a valid observation.
Couple clips of mingling at the airports. Since the producers keep the teams from each other at the pit stops now, the only time to really mingle and talk "alliances" is during meet ups at the airport and the various bunching sites. This is how the back of the pack teams found out from the hockey brothers that John & Jessica were gone since they finished the surf board detour late too and knew the order of the elimination. The blondes and roller moms reaction to the news was.
I'd eat that scorpion and wave at you as I spent my million dollars.
Your program sucks and your partner just fell: lay down and play dead or think Feck this and do a Th3A at the end of the program: Aliona Savchenko: Definition of a competitor
