Adding my prayer.
We got a call from the med staff this morning- they will be taking the chest tube out today hopefully, because that seems to be the main source of his discomfort. They also apparently want to try to see if they can get him walk a little bit. So it'll be a hard day for him. But he's still fighting, so that's a good sign for now.
And again, thank you all.
You dad sounds like a very strong man. Still thinking of you and praying for the best.
Thoughts and prayers for your father and for you, lmarie.
Lady 2: there isn't anything about me on goooogle, I mean, I must take it off if there is.....
Lady 3: The google is a terrible thing, I mean I don't want anything on there! (Overheard by millyskate on a London train.)
You are welcome!
Please, keep us updated.
Praying for you so hard! Your Dad sounds like the angels are taking care of him! I really believe he is going to pull through. He will be a walking miracle! Take care of yourself and your other family members, too. Your Dad needs you to be healthy! Big hugs!
Adding him to my prayers.
Thank you all! Today is the first that I've really felt optimistic at all. Cautiously so, but still optimistic. It was a positive day; my mom and I got there after dropping my brother off at work, and he was sitting up in a chair next to his bed. The medical staff took out the chest tube before we got there, and my dad said it was quite an experience, he was hurting a lot. But he seemed much more aware, and though he was completely worn out he seemed pleased to see us and to hear our chatter. We stepped out of the ICU a few times to give him a break to rest, and he was always ready to see us again when we came back. He also got to walk a little bit today, and his heart rate is still coming down. It is higher than it should be, but the range is lower every time I see him.
The valve test results are still not in yet, but once they are the doctors will know exactly what to do, it sounds like. And the current antibiotics are working well. So just pray that the trend continues.
Will keep praying ... and thank you for keeping us posted.
Glad to hear the encouraging news about your dad. I will keep him in my prayers.
Glad to read the positive news.
Take care of yourself, lmarie. Sending good thoughts for your dad, your mom, and your whole family.
