I think the length of deliberation was disagreements between Murder 1 and Murder 2. I'm betting they come out with Murder 2.
    Erm.... I got nothin'

I hope you're right. I'm just afraid the jury will have a hard time with that premeditation thing. Isnt murder 1 the only one that can come with the death penalty?

But I do think she is guilty of murder 1.

In CA, the jury not only have to reach a verdict (murder 1 or murder 2), but they would have to make further findings ("special circumstances") before a defendant is eligible for the death penalty. Does anyone know if something similar would be required in this case?

I understand that she was convicted of first degree murder!

woah... Guilty of Murder 1. The form said something about counts of jurors who found which for what, but I missed it.

I think they got it right.

ETA: Nancy Grace just repeated it: 5 jurors found premeditated, 7 found both premeditated AND agrivated (I think that was the word).

yes, they just showed the reading of the verdict again... Felony was the word. I'm not sure what that means in the context of the verdict.

So does this mean she gets the death penalty? I know this can't bring their son back but I hope at least this verdict can at least bring some comfort to Travis Alexander's parents.

Here is a video (live) from the local TV station:

    http://www.azcentral.com/community/m...rial-free.html

The jury is going to see more evidence to see if this was aggravating murder or not. I also read a word 'cruel'. They will listen to the additional information to decide on whether or not it should be a death penalty.

The expert thinks there is a high chance of a death penalty. Before the trial he had predicted a 1st deg. conviction.

Here is the reading of the verdict, as shown on CNN
    http://www.cnn.com/

Felony murder is more serious, usually death penalty. And Greta van Sustren's on saying how it's going to be hard for her attorney to argue to spare her when he he flat-out said himself nine times out of ten he didn't like his client, either...she seems to be of the opinion the defense did not do a very good job on this. (Which could help Arias in the long run as if the jury opts for the death penalty there are going to be appeals piled on appeals.)

Jodi Arias has cost the Maricopa County tax payers 1.7 million dollars, up to April.

Premeditate murder and felony murder are both First Degree Murder. So she will either face the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

Well, the family has announced a wrongful death lawsuit. Does the county have to sue as well, to get money back for court costs? I think I heard somewhere that, if found guilty, the defended is responsible for the costs.

The way the verdict was read: 5 found for premeditated, 0 for felony, and 7 for premeditated PLUS felony. so, all the jury thought it was premeditated, but 7 added felony on top of that. I'm going to have to look around for what that means.

Jodi Arias has no money but she's been making money from donations and selling arts.

If she writes a book and makes money from it, she may have to give it away, right?

I don't know if she is allowed to write a book. Is she allowed to? I think she should come clean and tell us what really happened that day in the bathroom though. I want to know if she shot him first or last.

Are there Son of Sam laws in Arizona? If so, they might prevent her from profiting at all from the sales of murder-related media.
