Alas, another white Standard. Bella and Draco said to tell you the Black Standard is the best.

I was rooting for the dalmation again. Of course if it had been a black standard poodle, that would have changed everything.

rfisher, but that Standard had some kid of affect, including a tilted head as if I am the Champion, look at me. I liked it much better than the Bichon. As the "mother" of one yellow and two black labs, though, I know what you mean about the blacks, but, boy, they are harder to photograph.

All my pictures are black blobs with red tongues. At least with the white poodles, the black eyes make a good contrast. The problem in the show ring is a good true black (not that they don't do a bit of dye jobs or use bluing for the whites). Bella wasn't a hard black as she had hints of brown in her coat as a puppy. Draco is a true black.

How can the Old English Sheepdog see, it's all hair. Beautiful markings. A rookie. Beat a lot of the older dogs this afternoon in the preliminaries. Swagger.

    Polish Lowland Sheepdog.
Puli. Corded. Plural is Pulik, I think that's how you spell it.
    Pyrenean Shepherd.
    Swedish Vellhund.

Those are just a few of the strange names.

I thought the maltese looked like some sort of evil witch queen. It was the one with that flat black thing in it's hair, on the front of it's head, right? I do think they are usually cute dogs, but this one was decorated poorly -- not as bad as that poor poodle, though.

Glad to see the Treeing Walker Coonhound there for the first time. We think our dog is a Walker Coonhound/beagle mix.

I can't watch so have to settle for photos. Not to dis the Old English Sheepdog, but not my fav among the best group--the herding group. For that matter neither is the Bichon for its group. All hounds are good.

Hoping for better with the Sporting group, where the GSP is always best. And go Anatolian Shepard in the working group!

Not that my favorite dog appears in the show. That would be generic mutt.

Of the 4 from the first night, the hound is definitely my fave.

I love the Treeing Walkers (my "redneck" next-door neighbor has a kennel license and breeds working/hunting Walkers and they are just the SWEETEST big galoots! He only has about five at any given time if there's no new litter, and he didn't breed one this year, but they always SOUND like there's about four hundred!)

Waiting to see who wins the Terrier group, but I'm kinda pulling for the Class dog Old English now! My Pembroke is of course heartbroken that no one appreciates Pems sufficiently.
