Favorite skater "type":
1. The Ballerinas-emphasize line, toe point, flexibility, & extension. (Cohen, Czisny)
2. The Figure Skaters-speed, flow, edges. Neither contortionists nor actresses (Sato, Kerrigan)
3. The Athletes-feats of raw power and physicality on display here (Slutskaya, Ito, Meissner)
4. The Artists-sumptuous expression and deep musical connection (Baiul, Chen, Bobek)
5. The Space Aliens-voidzzz. these invoke a cultural aspect of the sport. Those that seek to break expectations and expand the vocabulary of the sport. (Hubert, Markova, Stephanie Rosenthal)
The very best skaters have elements of all 5 aspects, with at least 2 primary.

When it comes to favorites, I rank them thus: 4, 2, 3, 5, 1.
short programs of each type
1) Cohen's Espana Cani, Czisny's La Vie en Rose
2) Sato's Railway Children, Kerrigan's Paradise/The Master
3) Slutskaya's The Bolt, Ito's Yotei no Matsuri, Meissner's Symphonic Dances
4) Baiul's Barcelona Nights, Chen's Adios Nonino, Bobek's Zorba the Greek
5) Hubert's In the Mood, Markova's Harlem Nocturne, Rosenthal's Rockit
Interesting.My favorites are 2, 4, 1, 5, 3. (then again, it really is a draw between 2 & 4..)
Since there is more weight on 3 options, I choose 4)-Barcelona Nights/Adios Nonino/Zorba the Greek.
