    Nay, then.

Seattle, because of its proximity to Canada.

    Murmansk or Vladivostok?

Neither, but at least Osmond seems to utilize a bit more expressiveness while skating even if those expressions too aren't yet mature. They both have time to improve and to become real women, or real ice divas worth their weight in Gold.

Who skates more like a man ... uh, well scratch that.

most plausible ca. 2010 skating fan amongst these dead writers:

    Faulkner
    Sartre
Hemingway (Well, at least his pseudonymous posts about the all-important quad would be readable.)
    O'Connor
    Beckett
    Borges

    ^^

I'd definitely have to say either Sartre (because figure skating today is so existential in and of itself, as well as for many fans) or Beckett (because figure skating is such a Theatre of the Absurd).

    inspired choice!

Well, why not everyone bald -- would save a lot on hairdressing costs, etc.

(My Dad used to do a comb-forward; he let his hair grow longer at the back when the front part started receding)

Yay, I guess, though the name suggests the broad hilarity of a pierced waterbed in the movies.

Re: #188, I'm a big fan of Yuko Kavaguti. I thought the term "pussface" meant "sourpuss", which, frankly, isn't much of a pejorative in my book (and "cool cat" would be more like it, or so it seems to this viewer). So, what was intended to be a lighthearted pretend-dig at a skater I admire--which is itself silly in one my age--reads as something else. Apologies.
