I'm not going to get into specifics, but it's certainly frozen over.

New Interview with Alex here: http://skateguard1.blogspot.com/2013...x-johnson.html

Also gives more details on his LP:
My free skate is to a variety of film soundtracks, but has a very dark feeling to it. It opens briefly with the beginning of a remix of the "Nightmare On Elm Street" theme song and then goes immediately into two different waltzes. The ending piece is titled "Bernini's Angels".

    Reviving this thread...

Alex posted a journal entry on his official site last November that explained his decision to take off the 2013-14 competitive season due to his ankle surgery and longer-than-expected recovery: http://www.figureskatersonline.com/a...n/journal.html

This weekend he will return to his home state of Minnesota to perform in the Coon Rapids (north of Minneapolis) ice show, April 25-27 - show info at: http://www.coonrapidsicecenter.com/iceshow.htm

ETA that Johnson competed in the Pre-Bronze Dance event at Adult Nationals earlier this month (he and his partner placed 1st of 2 teams).

I wish Alexander could become National Champion! His talent is undeniable and his skating quality is very much like Abbott and Savoie. I wish him all the best luck in his recovery and hope we get to see him compete again soon!

I think Alex Johnson is a good friend of Piper Gilles. I think they grew up together from what I can tell from their posts and photos on Twitter.

Yes! I completely agree . Would love to see him as the National Champion and I agree that he reminds me a lot of Matt Savoie and Jeremy!

Alex was great tonight! He did a modified version of his short program and then another Beatles number. If you can make it down to the Coon Rapids Ice Center Saturday (4/26) at 6:30 p.m. or Sunday (4/27) at 2:00 p.m., it is well worth the $7 price of admission.

Alex is performing this weekend in a club show in St. Joseph, Missouri - article: http://www.newspressnow.com/life/st_...97570ca1d.html
In addition to a theatrical show by the local youth skating club, each event will include performances by Team Amore of Kansas City, the Griffon Gliders synchronized skating team and, most prominently, U.S. Figure Skating Team member Alex Johnson. Figure skaters and coaches from around the region are being called in to pull off the “Wonka” spectacle.

“We have so many characters that the Hockey Association is helping us out,” laughs Mavis Anderson, the President of the St. Joseph Figure Skating Club. “We needed Oompa-Loompas.”

“Willy Wonka on Ice” will be presented at 7 p.m. May 9 and at 2 and 7 p.m. on May 10 at Bode Ice Arena, 2500 Southwest Parkway.

Alex wrote about competing in his first full competition in over a year - he placed 2nd (182.91) at the Broadmoor Open club competition last weekend: http://www.figureskatersonline.com/a...n/journal.html
    His 2014-15 program music:
Catarina [Lindgren] choreographed my new short program to Rachmaninoff's "Trio élégiaque No. 2" and Tom [Dickson] choreographed my new long program to Sondheim's Sweeney Todd.

Absolutely, this is a skater I want to see more of. Is it feasible for him to get competitions on the Senior B circuit this season, even though he's been out of action awhile?

Yes, it's feasible because Johnson was added to USFS' International Selection Pool after the Broadmoor Open. Up next for him is Skate Detroit later this month.
