Well said! How about anything bring Michelle back on ice is worth a look and discuss on a figure skating board?
How about Yuna Kim, who's doing so much work to raise awareness for the special Winter Olympics games these last weeks while all her peers are busily prepare for the world championships, made them great public servants and credit to the sport and the Olympic movement?
I don't care who knows it, but I just love these two, who makes a great dynamic team that made great tribute to the sport and continues to raise figure skating as a Winter Olympic premier event. I love the fact how everything comes together like part of one long legacy, and that memories are never forgotten and are meaningful beyond scoring/points/ranks/medals. How the greats can continue to inspire the young and be life changing. Without Yuna (who also volunteered and taught the special Olympics team), would there be Korean Gold and Silver medalists at the figure skating for the Special Olympics? Are these random coincidences?
Likewise, without a Midori Ito, would Japan been so obsessed with 3A that resulted Mao's amazing feat to land 3 x 3A at the Winter Olympic games? If Midori and Mao goes on the ice today at any event, I'd love to see it and appreciate those who'd refer them here. Life is short and I hardly ever visit other parts of the forum beyond the GSD and Trashcan.
I have always believed any Olympics event deserve as to get as much media attention and recognition. Having lived through and experienced the Summer Paralympic games in London made me appreciate so much about all athletes and human potentials. Global events that held a mirror to highlight peak human achievements that we don't hear about every day. The more the press the coverage, the better. Don't suppress it, celebrate it. It is a pity not more English reports are out there for this event, and these two are trying to raise awareness are doing a wonderful job with what they can.
