Well, fresh from watching the Lambiel videos on another thread....I would say Lambiel's La Traviata and William Tell both. And of course, Alexei's Winter, MITIM and I loved the racing one too. Shows how to take a theme and work it.

I usually like all of Mao's step sequences but there was one that included lots of twizzles in all different directions (I think it might have even been an exhibition program). I can't seem to find the video but I really, really liked that one.

Current step sequences look pretty much the same to me. I find it hard to get excited about them.

Footwork nowadays is amazing and difficult but....a lot of times it doesn't fit with the music.

A lot of Barna's are tremendous. I simply looove the one from his 89 & 91 SP. Difficult yet perfectly timed to the music and executed with great speed. He was ahead of his time.

Current step sequences look pretty much the same to me. I find it hard to get excited about them.

I have to agree. I discussed this with a friend recently, and my feeling was that current programs (and step sequences) are often better constructed than 6.0 ones, but because there are very clear requirements that one must check off to get good scores, they tend to be more similar and thus, less memorable. I mainly notice IJS step sequences because of good execution or poor execution, not for actual content, excitement or wow factor.

Say what you will for Yagudin doing level 0 and Candeloro's D'Artagnan being cheesy, those step sequences stood out and fit within the programs and the music. Covering the entire ice with every change of edge and direction known to man just doesn't have the same effect.

Though Lambiel had some pretty ones. But I got the sense that Lambiel was just being Lambiel and kind of bending the system to his will, rather than the other way around. I've also liked some of Takahashi's - NOT Swan Lake, which I always found disjointed, but in his programs last year, and La Strada had fun circular steps, IIRC.

That was spectacular! Especially David Liu's! I remember being blown away at the first time I saw this performance. He had quite a talent!
