Mistakes happen. Has anyone in den Haag pointed this out to the referee or technical controller?
Hopefully it was brought up by Peters' coach and someone there can check on it even though the protocol can't be changed at this point (I think?).

Alex skates last again! That worked well in the short program. I hope it does as well in the free.

About page 15. It should be called but maybe the key point here is the line In all doubtful cases the Technical Panel should act to the benefit of the skater. Maybe the camera angle was such that they weren't sure and acted in her benefit calling it a 2Lo? I can't see the protocols but how was her GOE on the element? Did it work out in her favour that it was called a 2Lo instead of the 3Lo<<?
Two judges gave her -2 and the rest gave -3.

There was also an "e" call (on this and both her other two 2F as well).

They wouldn't have given the edge call without reviewing, so we can be sure they did review the element, although it's possible they paid more attention to the flip than to the loop.

She didn't actually rotate more than 2 times in the air. Not only was it not close to 3, it wasn't even close to 2 1/2.

Since this is a long program, a triple is not required and -2 is a valid GOE for that bad a landing. Although with the edge call as well it does seem generous.

However, with the bad landing AND a downgrade, even without the edge call, I think it would be hard to justify -2 and would pretty much force the judges to give -3. With the edge call, no question.

So calling it a double instead of a downgraded triple did work slightly in her favor.

I don't know whether the panel actually considered how the call would affect the judges' GOEs and chose the one that was more likely to result in a better score, or whether they just thought "Rotated 2 times in the air. Double jump. Too bad she couldn't check the landing."

Alex won the FS second overall, Good for him. US has another possible contender for the future. This competition has to be a huge
    confidence boost for him.

    Congrats to Brian!

Johnson wins the FS, Joubert wins overall by a very slim margin (ETA: I see Sylvia beat me to it )

Umronnie, since Joubert landed a quad in the SP and reportedly landed one today, I believe that puts him at 100 for his career?

He's probably disappointed he didn't get the 4S in the SP. His main goal at this event was to work on some technical stuff, but it doesn't look like he was able to do what he wanted.

I just checked, and Joubert's score is very similar to last year's Challenge Cup - about a point higher this season. The only difference was that the American in second place was better this time around

No protocols yet, but can this be considered conformation? I can't work out what quad he landed, but it looks like he did get one

Mmm... maybe they can't work out the quad either, which is why the protocols are not up yet. Oh, well, I waited 7 months to find the 100th quad. I can wait till tomorrow...

The sal might be a bit short, but I'm so glad he's putting it out there. Hope to see it in London
