Shame about the cancellations I was looking forward to seeing Kozuka skate especially .... will he be doing another B competition somewhere?

Seems like Carolina is definitely going, she comfirmed it officially on her FB: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater

As of today Brandon Mroz is also out... at this rate they'll probably hand a pair of skates and ask me to give it a try.

Thank you Sylvia! This is actually good news - it's only 1,5 hours away from where I live so I can go and watch him skate live

Sad about Kozuka not being there, but that gives Alexander Johnson an even better shot at making the podium.

The Helgesson sisters have also cancelled , plus Mandus Thorman.

And even if it's not on the site yet, Javier Raya is not competing either due to injury.

Alexander Johnson is having travel delays and hasn't left Colorado Springs yet. I hope this doesn't affect his performance. I'd really like him to do well.

^I saw that on his twitter account, too. It's still early enough where this shouldn't really impact his performance. Fingers crossed he and his skates get to The Hague soon!

From Sylvia, in Alex's cheer thread:

Alex tweeted he will "land 10 hours later than planned" in Amsterdam but was able to fly out, finally, last night (Colorado Springs to LAX to London to AMS)

They posted all competition videos last year so I hope this will also be the case this year.

Kerstin Frank has been the top Austrian lady for a while now - she finished 12th at Europeans and 21st at 2012 Worlds. Her ISU bio: http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00008103.htm

Kostner's score won't count as an ISU PB/SB because this is a Senior B.

Yet another reason I need to catch up with all Euro vids ASAP but I remember her from Worlds now that you mentioned it, that's a mighty good score for her!

And I had no idea senior b don't count for SB/PB... Thanks!

In Worlds qualifying last year she beat her LP best by about 20 points. She's definitely moving up. But her SP music is the most version of Queen I've heard in years.

She's a big, powerful skater. At Euros she skated right after wispy little Finnish Julia, who looks like a strong wind could blow her away, and the contrast was startling.

But like some other bigger girls I remember, Kerstin is graceful and jumps well.

In Kerstin's case, it also helps that she upgraded her combo from 3toe-2toe to a 3lutz-2toe, as well. This is the first time she's done a lutz as her combo this season, I believe. Always had a soft spot for power and ice coverage, so it's nice to see her doing well this year

eta: It was her first 3lutz-2toe this season. She confirmed it on FB.
