Maxim. Brave to compete at Euros, hope he not fell apart in a couple of days, when it starts to sink what really happend. RIP, Maxims dad.
This news made me teary when reading them at the Russian news thread.
It’s always the hardest stroke of fate to lose close relatives, but it’s even worse when it was not possible to be with them to say goodbye. He has my deep compassion. Condolences to Maxim and all the best for Euros and for overcoming this big loss.
Maxim's father came across as an extremely proud, supportive parent, of both of his children. I am sure this is going to be a very hard time, and a very tough competition for V/T, and my thoughts to his sons and wife.
I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally.~W. C. Fields
Is there any detail on the cause of death? Did Maxim's father have an illness like heart trouble or something else? Was this sudden? Regardless, it must be tough for the family.
Thoughts and prayers for Maxim and his family.![]()
Sad news indeed. My condolences to Maxim and his family.
What sad news!My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to Maxim and his family. Wishing lots of strength and peace of mind to Max and his loved ones during this very difficult time. Max, all of your fans love you with all of our hearts! <3 Recovering from this loss will certainly not be easy, as Joannie and Mao have discovered, but happy memories and lessons learned from our loved ones never die and hopefully, with time, it will be a little easier to cope with what has happened.
My condolences to Maxim and his family.![]()
Adding my condolences as well to Maxim and his family and partner.
This kinda reminds me of when John Coughlin lost his mother that one year.
Here's hoping the entire Russian National Team makes it to Euros safe & sound, as I know right now their flight has been delayed per the news article over in the Euros thread.
Sincere and heartfelt condolences to Maksim and his family.
SSRIs keep you from reaching orgasm, and menopause keeps you from wanting one.

"This, after all, is opera, opera in New York, not some dainty pastime like professional hockey..." -- Chip Brown, NYT Magazine 24 Mar 13
So sad. RIP, sir.
Always sad when people die too young and unexpectedly, and it's even more stressful for the athlete when it's at a time when they are under the pressure of competing too. The heart is torn even more.
I thought I'd posted in here the other day, but see I hadn't. The late nights watching the Aussie Open is catching up w/me I guess. Anyway...
My deep and sincere condolences to Max, his Family and their Friends on the loss of his Dad. Also much love from this Cdn fan as Max competes for the rest of not just this year, but next as well. I'm glad he's got Tatiana w/him during the next little while, as he won't be alone.
May Mr. Trankov Rest in Peace.![]()
