Well those are certainly experienced people. Would be really interesting to know the reason behind the different spin call.
When I watched practice of the FD earlier in the day, I saw yet another "little" piece of choreography that I hadn't seen before for whatever reason. Just before Tessa's hand is on Scott's chest and she pushes him away, she runs that same hand up his thigh. It begins with her hand on his thigh with fingers facing downward, then she runs her hand up the thigh, up his lower chest and then as she's getting to the final position, she rotates her hand so now the fingers are pointing up. It's like she is caressing him. Once it's in that position, she then "haughtily" pushes him away. Man, this FD has soooooooooooo many little details, I wonder if I'll ever notice them all. It just adds to the hotness that is "black Carmen" as I call it![]()
Crazy about sports!
There are so many nuances, subtle gestures and movements, glances, interpretation, feeling, and accents impecably timed to the music that makes this a masterpiece to be watched over and over. I am not an uber VM fan, usually preferring DW, but this dance together with the SD, takes them to a completely different level that, IMO, no one else can compete with. Consider me a fan!!!!!!

Just caught up latest evolution of Carmen on youtube... *faint* *swoon*!
Someone need to retitle this thread to
We Like it Hot... so scorching HOT my pants is on fire!!
This better WIN in fake London, or else I must launch aright outside the ISU HQ against the tyranny against the arts that is the current COP system and to enforce a rule that ALL judges MUST earn at least a level 3 in art and music critique and analysis, and this should be an extra new category to the PCS makeup.
I once sat on the front row VIP seating at the (real one) London O2's epic staging of Bizet's Carmen to a crowd of 15,000 with a cast of over 200s. I would happily give up those 3 amazing quality hours to exchange for the 4mins30s to be in the presence of these 2 live at London WC, to be able to to experience this heart pounding slice of skating heaven standing from the last rows just to be there! I expect this FS will send electricity around the arena on the day and rightly so.
Good luck Tessa and Scott, I am continued to be impressed and amazed at your demonstration of love, passion, care and attention to every aspect of your program to really craft for the best Carmen possible with respect to the system and despite of it; which is a total bonus for the fans, since we we can have different Carmen to compare to. I expect by the worlds, it will be the best version yet and be completely deserving the long standing ovations (and a few teary eyes and melting hearts no doubt) !!

For me, the little bitty change/addition in choreography that I'm rewinding the most is start of the third section, just before the madness begins. From the face caress to end the final tender moments between Carmen and Don Jose, to the little change in the next sequence where in Carmen looks like giving Done Jose a karate chop and Don Jose was ducking it. It looks like they were really having a big fight.Even Tracy paused when they were replaying this sequence.
The thing I picked up most from the K&C is how pleased they were with their skate. They are feeling it and it shows in the skating. For me I felt the same excitement I felt the first time I watched it. They are getting more comfortable with the elements and the emotion and story is coming through.
That's one of the easy things about being a fan of V&M for me. You may not always be sure of a program theme and they may stumble along the way but I always have faith they will build on the programs throughout the season and bring something special to Worlds. It's what sets them apart from the others.
Hell on nerves though during GPF, but hats off to them for sticking to their long term goals. They are in a very nice trajectory now performance wise. If all goes well, the risks they have taken at the beginning should pay off just about now. Fingers crossed, knock on wood.![]()

HAHAHAHA
idk but part of me kinda wants them to lose just because i know if they did, the london arena will go crazy and boo the winners. which imo wil be great heading into the olympics because it will make v/m look like the underdogs and the winners the enemy (well depending if scott keeps his mouth shut and plays his cards right) this was mentioned before in the other thread that skate canada and the canadian media has done a great job making v/m look like the underdogs and making the critics and haters of carmen look like snooty, close-minded people.
Oh, we probably would force ourselves to stand. Albeit without our hearts in it.
