    Exclamation Michelle Kwan gets married today 19-01-13

    According to Rhode Island and WPRI.com political editor's Saturday quick hits blog, Da Kween will be Michelle Kwan Pell before the day is out.

    Congratulations to ​Clay Pell​, grandson of the late U.S. Sen. ​Claiborne​ Pell, who’s tying the knot today with Olympian ​Michelle Kwan​ at the First Unitarian Church of Providence on Benefit Street. Pell, a U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant, proposed to Kwan on Block Island over Labor Day weekend. An eagle-eyed reader notes Kwan has suggested she might run for office someday – perhaps she’ll jump into the Providence mayor’s race if ​Angel Taveras​ runs for governor? You heard it here first.
    He's also just tweeted a round up stating the same. Very weird as I as just transferring some MK compilation tapes I came across onto DVD and did a news search to see what she was up to and that is what popped up! I can find no other media sources for this information so I guess time will confirm, but anyway

    ETA: Sonia Bianchetti has posted her congratulations to MK on her facebook page this morning so it much be true!

    Awesome news. It seems only yesterday I remember watching her in person as a pony - tailed 13 year old winning silver in Detroit.

    Usually it's a hair - brained Tonya Harding story that attempts to hijack attention from US Nationals.

    I'm sure Michelle looked stunning in her wedding gown, I can't wait to see the pictures.
    I'm not the biggest fan of Michelle's skating (although I do like several of her routines ), but her dedication, work ethic, longevity, grace under pressure, kindness, intelligence and just all around awesomeness is awe inspiring. Whatever she ends up doing career wise for the next part of her life, I'm sure she'll end up doing an equally job. Clay is very lucky to have her, and by all accounts she is lucky to have him as well. Best wishes and much happiness and joy to the new couple!
