Incredible in Fadeev attempt : usually, the upper body makes the rotation, but not the feet. Here, the foot looks at 4 turns, but not the rest of the body, so, the landing is bad, and the 2nd foot touches down the ice. LOL

most impressive = Ito! (since 3ax are still so rare for ladies her jump isn't necessarily so significant)

Ito's 3A forced skaters like Yamaguchi and Tonya Harding to push their technical abilities to compete with her. So Ito's 3A was significant.

Are people in this thread bringing up Surya to be comical? Comparing what she did in 1991 to a quad attempt is like comparing some drag queens with women. She couldn't even do a triple loop that year.

It was significant at the time to her top two rivals (technically) and historically significant.

But... it didn't lead directly or indirectly to 3axs being a necessary part of ladies skating (what I was referring to). You can still comfortably count the number of ladies who've completed 3axs at worlds or olys on one hand (and have a finger or two left over). Twenty years after Colledge or Burka (or Biellmann) those jumps were necessary to be competitive, while the 3ax isn't (for ladies)

I often wonder what crime did Bonaly commit to generate such hate. Well, I know, she stood for what she thought was right and everybody judges her uppon this desperate act. Are you better than her to do so ?
I still remember these "journalists" waiting for her right after the medal ceremony, while she was still crying and could not think properly, eager for blood.

The fact is, you took the worst possible angle to say it's nowhere near a quad. Then, what are Ando's ? Double jumps ? Single axels ? (and I don't bring poor Miki here to bash her, but look at her salchows). Show me it's more than a quarter short rotation, I'm still waiting.

As for Cohen, it's just a joke, is it ? I'm sure both Ando and Bonaly landed several quad during pratice sessions, if not, they wouldn't had put them in their competitive programs. That's the difference between this complete quad (Cohen tried it in competition only twice if I'm not mistaking) and Ando&Bonaly's several attemps during high level competitions. It'll earn you so many title to land jumps only in pratice.
