Hopefully Silete will be back next season. She has big jumps and elegance plus some great diva voids . Although I will admit I've warmed up to Meite's skating recently, she still has a way to go but she actually HAS improved a lot artistically and as an overall skater over the past few seasons.

Cause she is the deserving to go skater. For the record I do prefer Gilleron-Gorry but she was gifted with the euro trip. Ventard was champ at Nationals and Meite second but they pick GG instead, but then Berenice beat her again at Zagreb. I thought French fed would screw it again and still pick Lenaelle. We know they love to play favorites.

Also, that statement is a two-way path. If a single skater is all elegant and musical (let's not use "artistic" cause I dont think being the delicate ballerina type for which most peole here go gaga over is the only or better way to be artistic) but can not jump to save his/her life they are out of place in a competitive sport which FS was the last time I checked. Whenever someone says "aww she messed all her elements but I could watch her skate all day" I want to say "well go and watch her at a disney on ice or ballet on ice show or something similar but this is a competition".

Awww, that sucks for him & it's horrible that the federation can mess its skaters around like that. But to be honest, I didn't understand why they picked him over Besseghier in the first place.

Since there aren't any more B competitions before Worlds, why are there on the rosters skaters/teams who haven't reached the minimum score (*)? Does that mean the ISU is considering raising the minimum score yet again?

Lowering, you mean? Perhaps the (*) teams/skaters are going to show up and hope no-one asks any awkward questions.

LOL the chinese dance team would probably show up and will only then find out they dont' have the scores but their fed will act as if nothing happened like in Jr. Worlds a few years ago.

Cross posting info I just posted in the Prediction Conest thread:

One replacement: Carol Bressanutti replaces Francesa Rio (ITA) in the Ladies field.

    Removed from the roster:
MEN: Valtter Virtanen (FIN), Romain Ponsart (FRA) [see above, France has no one on the sub list now], Stephane Walker (SUI)
LADIES: Laura Rasykova (CZE), Clara Peters (IRL)
    PAIRS: Martini/Kiefer (AUT)
    DANCE: Elsener/Roost (SUI)

I expect some more removals this week due to a few people still having not confirmed TES minimums.

Surprised because O'brien/M are very decent indeed, and shocked about Huang/Zheng 13th in the world not long ago. China wont be happy not to even have an entry in dance. I think these minimums are too high.

    Your words in ISU´s ears!

Its not a real World Championship with so few entries in every discipline.

I preferred the preliminary rounds even we didnt have a chance to watch them, but at least the skaters from smaller federations had the chance to compete.

The answer/explanation has since been posted in the French skating news thread in GSD:

I went back to my notes.
Chafik said at GP France that he had to achieve, I believe, 215.0 to make the World qualification set by France..and that his best to date had been 202.
That will be the restriction on Ponsart.

Here is the link to the French criteria selection
    ( I googled 215 and FFSG)

Let the skaters improve their skills if they want to be worthy of inclusion in a World Championship. I'm all for an end to the 'tourist skaters' at major ISU championships. The points-eligibility rules have certainly not kept smaller Feds like the Philippines out of the major championships.

Agree, it is sad about O/M because they have improved so much since moving to Detroit to train. Every other discipline but dance the TES was lowered by the ISU before Worlds.

I'm not so sad about missing the Chinese dance teams though.
