Thanks for the info. I too thought The Swan was not ballet music. I did not know the Dying Swan ballet used that music.

I liked Bechke & Petrov's Spartacus more than K&P's (surprise!) K&P's program was interesting, but I thought the prop (chains) was too overwhelming.

Shen and Zhao's nutcracker is one of the most memorable performances ever. Davis and White's Giselle is one of the most successful translation of ballet on ice!

Especially beautiful because, I believe that for many years; the only place that they were "allowed to"/comfortable with expressing their feelings for each other, was "on ice"

Tim Goebel was not balletic by any stretch of the imagination, but I liked his SP to Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet. He captured the power of that music very well.

Giselle: None that I really loved, but Angela's LP in 2002 had the potential to be really good. Unfortunately she never skated it to its potential. I appreciated Katia's pro routine to this, after Sergei's death.

Incredibly, the most balletic ice dancers Usova-Zhulin never skated to ballet music- in my memory at least.

They truly are the most balletic ice dancers and I am not trying to twist the topic but how about Summertime ( there is a ballet version of "Porgy and Bess" besides the opera and the musical)

I had never seen that program (Summertime) of Usova-Zhulin. They were gorgeous. I did not feel this was ballet music though; may be modern dance? Everything they did was balletic, graceful, beautiful.

Ilia has done several programs using music from the Nutcracker but this is far and away the best - I think one of his best pro programs period. 2003 Ice Wars. Just marvelous! For five years out from his OGM, extra marvelous.
