I love K&P's number, very creative concept and a demanding program.

The suite was not composed as a ballet score, but Le Cygne is the music of a later ballet, The Dying Swan.
Thanks for the info. I too thought The Swan was not ballet music. I did not know the Dying Swan ballet used that music.
Oksana Baiul's ex to this music in 1994 was beautiful.

I liked Bechke & Petrov's Spartacus more than K&P's (surprise!) K&P's program was interesting, but I thought the prop (chains) was too overwhelming.

Here is one of their best performances of it:

Especially beautiful because, I believe that for many years; the only place that they were "allowed to"/comfortable with expressing their feelings for each other, was "on ice"
Here's Toller Cranston as Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet (Prokofiev):

Here is Davis and White's Giselle. Starts with a march, then a waltz and finally a polka. Really good stuff!

Tim Goebel was not balletic by any stretch of the imagination, but I liked his SP to Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet. He captured the power of that music very well.

Thank you for the topic
Miki Ando's wasn't so bad

so is Shizuka's version

They truly are the most balletic ice dancers and I am not trying to twist the topic but how about Summertime ( there is a ballet version of "Porgy and Bess" besides the opera and the musical)

It is mostly jazzlike and is not as balletic as the next two programs

Is 'Prince Igor' a ballet? B&B skated to it (88 Oly), and also Ina & Dungjen (98 Oly)
I thought is was an opera and then realised I was confusing this with another one. However, after googling it seems 'Prince Igor' is also an opera:

I liked Klimova & Ponomarenko's exhibition performance to Swan Lake.

Ilia has done several programs using music from the Nutcracker but this is far and away the best - I think one of his best pro programs period. 2003 Ice Wars. Just marvelous! For five years out from his OGM, extra marvelous.
Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-hQp1zd00Y
I love D&W's Giselle - really great on their part and brilliant by Zueva.
