"Gypsy" wouldn't have been half as effective without his presence.

He's been fighting throat cancer for a long time now, hasn't he? Not a surprise, but a shame it had to happen on Christmas Eve.

I loved how during NBC's big Anniversary a few years ago, they brought him back for a couple of episodes as a former ME at the Coroner's Office on Crossing Jordan. He and Jill Hennessey really had such great chemistry and timing too.

Thanks for the Great Memories Sir. GodSpeed!!

When I was a freshman in college (mid 1960s) I saw Jack Klugman in a Broadway show (probably The Odd Couple).

I bought one of those fancy programs and I waited after the show to get his autograph, something I don't remember ever having done before, and have very rarely done since. But I really liked Jack Klugman.

He was clearly in a hurry, but he signed my program. Only his handwriting wasn't so great. So instead of it saying Jack Klugman, it seemed to say Jurle Klugmar.

I had an illegal toaster oven in my dorm room, that my friends all liked to use (this was pre-microwaves). We ended up calling the toaster oven Jurle Klugmar, and it became a code name. If someone wanted to use the toaster oven, she'd say, "I'll be visiting Jurle tonight."

It's funny the way celebrities intersect with our lives. When I saw the headline earlier today, I thought, "Oh no, Jurle Klugmar died."

He was a wonderful actor, even if his handwriting wasn't so great. I'll miss him.

Just look at his three most famous roles...

    1) Oscar Madison
    2) Quincy
    3) Juror #5

Three completely different roles, three brilliant performances all done by the same actor. That's the sign of a great performer

In reading some of the comments going along w/the various Obit articles I've read on his passing, I've seen more than once the following...

Thank you Mr. Klugman for getting me interested in Forensics because of Quincy.

Can there be a finer tribute? I think he'd adore that.

He insisted on that; saying that he wasn't interested in doing the usual police "drama".
    It wasn't, thanks to him.
