Some more programs that I love:

Dubreuil & Lauzon - Life is Beautiful (they did it a number of years ago before Jeremy Abbott did - love his performance to it too)

Dubreuil & Lauzon, Brian Orser - Somewhere in Time

Dan Hollander - Legends of the Fall, (also Liz Manley (?) and Vanessa Gusmeroli)

Tara Lipinski - Little Women (SP), Much Ado About Nothing/Sense & Sensibility

Mulan - Shen & Zhao, Michael Weiss

Jenny Kirk - an instrumental program from The Princess Diaries

Someone skated to the beautiful Forest Gump Suite - can't remember who, but the music is lovely

One of the better choreographed programs from that time, Lisa Nesuda's short to Golden Pond from 2000. I'm really not a fan of soft, lyrical style programs, but this has so many transitions (into jumping passes, no less!) and works so well with her style.

Even though S/S slipped huge in Vancouver at their FS, that is still my favorite performance of Out Of Africa. What they showed that night was "out of this world."

Did anyone mention Ashley Wagner's The Black Swan fp and Pollock sp from last season?! Of course, The Red Violin sp for this season, is also from movie of the same name, though I'm not sure which version Ashley is using. I'm certain that Samson & Delilah was also a movie (checked: yes it was in 1949; also a 2009 Australian film version), but again I'm not certain which score Ashley is using for her current fp.

French commentator Philippe Pelissier thought it looked old fashion, but I love this one :
Katrina Hacker 2008 NHK SP On golden pond

French skater Anne-Sophie Calvez also had a On Golden Pond program (2003 ???) !

I just remembered a couple of other programs to scores on the AFI list:

    # 3 Lawrence of Arabia: Kevin van der Perren, 2007-8 LP.

    # 22 On the Waterfront - Brandon Mroz 2010-11 LP.

I would recommend skaters stay away from the AFI top 50 actually. I mean I have always felt the whole point of Film OST is that they offer something more contemporary, new, never heard before to describe something entirely different from the classic masterworks of last centuries. It would be nice if we can discover new music through skating, instead of seeing skating fulfilling our vision of what popular well known pieces of music we expect already. I remember I bought the Red Violin OST entirely on the strength of Michelle Kwan's performance, the intrigue, the mystery, the emotion. Not seen the movie until a year later. It would be nice if skating programs and performances can do that.

I have compiled a list of films scores ALL asian skaters should stay away, probably will add more later. They have became big cliches and entirely uncreative.

    1. Memoir of A Geisha (Just no more please!!! ARGHH....)
    2. Dragons Bruce Lee Story (>..need to wipe Elvis chopping hand from memory)
    3. Mulan (over used.. but at least it is better than MoAG)
    4. The last Emperor (I like the movie, but sorry this belong to Chen Lu only!)

Other Asian themed film OST I'd recommend for skating

    1. Heaven and Earth ('93 Kitaro)
    2. House of Flying dagger (Shigeru Umebayashi.)
    3. In the mood for love (Shigeru Umebayashi actually anything by him is worth investigating and under rated e.g Daisy, 2046, Fearless, Curse of the Golden flower etc.)
    4. Last of the Samurai (Hans Zimmer... Maybe Oda can use it to boost him, I read he is a descendent of Samurai Nobu)
    5. Kungfu Panda (Love Julia L's 2010 super cute version .... think there could be more of it. Where's Misha Ge? Or Florent!)

I decide to leave out anything by Joe Hisashi, think people should not mess his stuff after Kozuka's last version kind of ruined my sentimental fav: Nausicaä - Valley of the Wind. (Unless your name Daisuke or Hanyu, everyone else stay away!! )

She's not using a score for her "Samson & Delilah" FP but music from the actual opera by Camille Saint-Saens.

You really know your stuff! I'd personally be so into the program tuned for Kungfu Panda especially by Micha Ge

Nice thread, so many nice memories and forgotten programs worthy of watching again. The few movie themed programs that come to my mind are amongst others:

sp of Lucinda Ruh on 'Lawrence of Arabia' music:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_Ikxi6Zx4A

Abitbol and Bernadis also skated to 'Chariots of Fire', they used it in 1998:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DhjjfjJ8SY

Laurent Tobel used 'Pink Panther' in 1997:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6CcGLX5XMg

Jill Trenary skated to the lovely 'On Golden Pond' music too:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7bGQ0_UuSU

Victoria Volchkova skated to 'Gone with the wind':
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UO6FKK0yQk

What about all the programs with a Mary Poppins theme (didn't Witt, G&G and Wylie do a number on that music)? Or Oda with Super Mario brothers soundtrack. 'Broken Arrow' music accompanied some nice programs too with very different themes, Schwarz and Müller used it, perhaps in 1999 and didn't Yagudin have that too before changing it? If I remember well, Schwarz and Müller used that music to ask people to think about domestic violence, some claimed they were attention seekers but they said they really cared about that subject and wanted to do something about it.

West Side Story has been used a few times too, Witt, G&G and the Duchesnays come to mind although I'm sure more people have used it:

Perhaps you're thinking about the Tanja Szewchenko sp in 1996 I believe:

This is strange. I definitely knew I'd seen a Forest Gump program skated by a lady in a pale green dress, but there is no way I could have seen this back in 1996 - I didn't even follow skating back then. I wonder where I could have come across it...

Not a pale green dress, but it's pale - Katy Taylor skater to Forest Gump Suite in 2006. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXePE6tOeBA
    Maybe that's what you remember?

Tanja Szewczenko skated to Forest Gump in a pale green and white dress in 96.

Oops, meant to post this earlier and see that someone beat me to the punch.

No, it has to have been Szewchenko - the performance I remembered was definitely from the 1990s and I remembered the dress, I just figured it was a couple of years later. Maybe I did see it in real time, without being aware of who I was watching.

Thinking about more movie themed programs:

Lyons/Wells on music from 'A fish called Wanda':
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyiToKJgjs4

Lipinski's 'I could have danced all night' from 'My fair lady':
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJQwUr_V914

From all her movie soundtrack competitive programs I liked her 1997 lp the best:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBbDHZOZf2Q

'The Truman Show' has an enjoyable soundtrack too, I think this is one of my favourite programs of Lambiel:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCedRHKi5nE

Obertas/Slavnov skated to it as well:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CllOoHilU8o

Leonova/Khvalko had a nice program on music from Pocahontas:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnKmMjuQYnQ

Ekaterina Gordeeva as always lovely, here skating to 'The umbrellas of Cherbourg':
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-mLfXXRKdY

I love this program from Alissa Czisny:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM0c16_lYtQ

Josée Chouinard's 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' program was memorable too:

Thank you everyone for the info about the ladies who skated to the Forest Gump Suite!

Scott Davis did a memorable program to West Side Story in the mid 1990's.

The Kween's Pocahontas program (including the song "Just Around the River Bend," etc.), and Amanda & Mark's Pocahontas exhibition program from 2011 US Nationals in Greensboro, NC
