Best senior skater(s) of the calendar year 2012?
Tessa and Scott!
Patrick Chan, IMO.
Davis and White
Takahashi as he should have won 2 GP finals and 2012 Worlds in that period, along with the WTT and Japan Open he already won.
I can only choose 1?
Well, for starters, Meryl and Charlie. They may have lost Worlds, but were still incredible and their Die Fledermaus was the FD of the season. Then they won the WTT and the GPF.
Plus Takahashi. Won WTT and the GPF and came 2nd at Worlds. Besides, show me somebody who doesn't love him.
Virtue and Moir deserve this imo for persevering through her injury (since tessa said that she was still experiencing intense pain after worlds 2011 and because you know, they could've just retired) and for reinventing themselves and bringing something fresh to the sport everytime they compete
also for making a boring, overused piece of music interesting again.

Davis & White, without a doubt!!!
IMO, Meryl and Charlie deserve it for their enduring talent, and for their sportsmanship and grace when coming in second to their rivals and equals, V/M. Plus, Meryl and Charlie's amazing and consistently performed tour de force, Die Fledermaus, their absolutely beautiful SD to Giselle, and their stunning FD performance at GPF 2012 to win their 4th consecutive GPF, in addition to the way they always challenge themselves to improve and to give it their all every time they go out onto the ice.

Tessa and Scott.......constantly challenging themselves with something different each year. For their beautiful lines and expression and connection. They have overcome so much in their competitive careers.......my hat is off to them again and again.

Today is Doomsday. Alternate side of the street parking will be in effect.
Voted for Kostner. Even with some shortcomings on jumps, and lack of GP 2012 season. It is so rare- and gratifying- to have a Lady World Champion who puts artistry as the cornerstone of her skating. There are artistic women skaters, of course, but I rarely ( almost never?) feel that they skate for artistic expression first and foremost. With Kostner, I do, and that makes her wins very memorable.
