Yay! I cannot believe I finally got to see their performance during a live coverage and that I got to see them gain this big of a score advantage over Tessa and Scott. I don't even care it's past 2 am here, I'm soooo happy for them!

I just looked at the top 10 and didn't see the Shibutanis, and was thinking, "Did they skate that bad???!!!!"

They're surprisingly not bad at all right now!

I'm not that nervous about the FD. Yes, V&M still have a chance, but unless Meryl & Charlie really blow it, there's not too much to worry about IMO.

It would be riddiculous if they were. Tessa had serious problems with her twizzles, so the outcome looks totally fair and square. It would be insane if they hit a new season's best with that skate. As far as the PCS is concerned, I've said it many times, Meryl and Charlie's SD kicks ass in every single aspect of this score.

It sounds like the judges were fair on PCS.

Wasn't really expecting that. No huge advantage for the home team or anything.

If Meryl & Charlie win, no doubt last year will be but a distant memory for them.

In the end, I just want the better team to win. If V&M outskate the Americans, then by all means they should win. But most of us were very disappointed with the judging last year.

Hope Meryl & Charlie have a great performance in the FD--not merely enough needed for a win. And I hope next year they get a really edgy, riveting FD!

That's the best I've seen the Shibs skate that all season. Fantastic.

And I know SD lifts are supposed to be simple, but I think every other couple has done almost the same lift.

Exactly. Meryl & Charlie are still not a lock--they've got to be on their game. But hopefully this will take a bit of the edge off their nerves.

, I won't relax until the FD is over. Gotta say, though, I did breathe a big sigh of relief when their scores came up 3 points better than their previous SB.

I'm so happy for Meryl and Charlie!! Great job on the SD--Giselle is one of their best short programs ever, IMO. I'm hoping for great things in the FD!

I totally agree. I dare to say it is the overall best SD since SDs were introduced and their second best short right after the iconic Bollywood OD.

I do believe they have even better things in store for the Olympic season, though!
