To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
I wuzrobbed that Bosnia and Herzegovina aren't in this year.
I'll take Ukraine.![]()
Lithuania, please!![]()
Initial impressions of this year's songs...
Semi 1:
Austria - They got someone this year who can sing! Shame the song is a bit generic and crap.
Belarus - It's Shakiraskaya!I bet the choreo for this will be typically understated.
Belgium - Those are some serious eyebrows! Pleasant enough, but love kills is a bit of a downer for a song title.
Croatia - This is really retro mid 1990s Eurovision. This will either get people nostalgic or score zero points.
Cyprus - Aphrodite is singing for them this year. There's a key change. Fortunately, I can't see them needing to skim money off people's bank accounts to host Eurovision 2014.
Denmark - Sandie Shaw channelling Alannis Morrissette channelling Loreen. This is the best for me so far.
Estonia - They're going for another ballad this year in Estonian. "Et Uus Saaks" says it all really.
Ireland - No comment in case I embarrass myself
Lithuania - Freaky eyes! There's something a bit skary about it all.
Moldova - Holy crap Moldova are really toning it down this year. That dress! And is that Pasha Parfeny on Piano?
Montenegro - Slutty Montenegrin Dubstep! Wheee! This may be too out there for most of the Eurovision audience.
Russia - OK this kind of craps all over Austria, but it's still a bit winning song American Idol Series 6.
Serbia - Seriously Serbia?12 points for slutty devil voids though.
Slovenia - Slovenia in strongest of ex-Yugo songs shocker?
Netherlands - This is....different. I'm not sure if it's good or very pretentious.
Ukraine - That's the subtleness we've come to expect from Ukraine.
Qualifiers: Ukraine, Netherlands, Slovenia, Serbia (for the giggles), Russia, Moldova, Ireland, Denmark, Austria

On to Semi 2:
Albania - Oh dear!
Armenia - A monobrow to remember! The song is errr....welcome back Armenia, but you're not winning this year.
Azerbaijan - More epic eyebrows. But oil does make a difference in production values.
Bulgaria - Well I didn't like their entry in 2007 and this is even worse so it'll probably do really well.
Macedonia -Very random.
Finland - Nordic Katy Perry
Georgia - Well this is better than the Macedonian duet anyway....
Greece -![]()
Hungary - Kedvesem, Kedvesem,Kedvesem. Whatever that means.
Iceland - Bit of a "Kuula" vibe off this. Bloody hell, there are a lot of ballads this year though!
Israel - It's Israeli Nana Mouskouri. And there's nothing like big hair AND cleavage.
Latvia - Jedward without being twins or having their vocal ability.
Malta - Indie Malta is kind of cute.
Norway - If Loreen hadn't won last year, this would scream WINNER to me. Still like it best of all songs so far.
Romania -![]()
![]()
San Marino - I miss Facebook uh oh uh oh. Even if we get two songs for the price of one.
Switzerland - Yuck.
Qualifiers: I've no idea, but here goes - Romania, Norway, Malta, Israel, Iceland, Greece, Georgia, Finland, Azerbaijan and Monobrow
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
I can take San Marino again.
The Big Six:
France - Oh dear how unfortunate for Bonnie Tyler that she's out-BonnieTylering her. Quite like this too.
Germany - This is a bit shite isn't it? Might do OK though.
Italy - Sideburns! After that it's all a bit dull I'm afraid.
Spain - A bit My Heart Will Go Jamon at the start. And then it becomes a bit teen movie end credits song.
Sweden - I could be wrong here, but I don't think it's going to be two in a row for the Swedes.
UK - I'd expected a car crash, but it's not too bad if a little MOR.
OK, after hearing all the songs I think Norway would be my pick for winner. But I quite like Denmark, Ireland, Russia, Greece, Malta and France. I think the contest is wide open this year.
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
I think we might get a huge difference between jury and public votes this year. Not that we get to see that. But I expect Netherlands, France and Norway to do really well with the juries and possibly not so much with the public.
I want to be Sweden.![]()
Can I be Montenegro?
I'd like to be Greece.
If it's okay, I can be Romania.
I'll take Moldova this year!
Loreen "Heal"
Her new single is out (out of the album of the same name). A great song and video. It has the melancholic and atmospheric mood of "Euphoria" whilst not being a cheap piece of trash, music wise.
I am really pissed off with Warner. "Euphoria" could have been a huge worldwide hit if they promoted it properly and they could have used the momentum to market her as an international artist. A wasted opportunity.
(Also, I don't understand why the album has been renamed from "Rapture" to "Heal." The former is a much better name.)

Can I be Iceland ?
Can I be Italy?
Is the UK still open?
Also, if there's anything left after everyone's signed up, my sister REALLY wants to do it with us this year!
We are still missing one video. Belarus. I wonder whether the fact that the song was up on MySpace years ago means that it potentially got disqualified? The delegation head meeting has taken place now and all the songs should be confirmed and published now. Strange.
This is how the stage is going to look:

I think that it's an absolutely stunning design and it's a refreshing change not to see it rely too much on the lcd screens.
