I just came here to say that if I see one more snarky comment on Facebook that the Duchess is a spoiled rich woman and the poster or his spouse or his/her co-worker or brother's dogwalker had to go to work when they had morning sickness, I'm going to scream.
This is not mere morning sickness and the stupid press is making her look bad by implying that it is.
Same with my sister; she had always wanted 3 or 4 children, but had pretty bad morning sickness with her first pregnancy and when the second one was many times worse (and of longer duration) she said that if she was carrying twins, she would have 3, but otherwise baby #2 was going to be the last for her.
Lady 2: there isn't anything about me on goooogle, I mean, I must take it off if there is.....
Lady 3: The google is a terrible thing, I mean I don't want anything on there! (Overheard by millyskate on a London train.)
THANK YOU!! Has been watched and bookmarked.![]()

The Canadian media's been pretty good about explaining this is *not* normal morning sickness. All of the digital newspapers have a related link to a story explaining just what this is and how it is so not what's expected. Same w/the stories I saw on the news last night.
There is one member over at The Royal Forums that has been going on ...and on...and on about how they just can't understand why they announced exactly why Kate's been admitted, as they could have said she was suffering from the flu or whatever.
Number one, this is one of the Kate bashers and I guess this was the only thing they could think up for an "attack". Second, why the others over there kept falling for this twit is beyond me.
I mean, in this day and age it should be obvious why they announced the real reason for Kate's admit to hospital.
Oh and a third is I have this member over there on Ignore, but thanks to the others falling for her/his crap, I had to wade through all of them quoting it in their responses.
I mean...Really? I just don't get people like that.
Because of how hard it is to be admitted in our health care system, people seem to assume that her hospitalization is merely a convenience of wealth and position and not a matter of necessity. And the perception is that "severe morning sickness" means "like the morning sickness my (put friend or relative in the blank) had only kind of a little bit worse". One quote from my FB newsfeed: "What does that mean? She vomited twice instead of once yesterday morning?"
I saw an article where an ob/gyn specialist talks about how she hopes this will make people more aware of this condition and its seriousness.
Carolyn Harris has put up quite the article over at her blog about the news and how it relates to Royal History...

There's also a picture over there of the future Duke of Windsor being held after his Christening by his Great Grandmother Victoria and his Grandfather the future King Edward VII and Father the future King George V standing behind her.
Oh and someone over at TRF mentioned this little one is also going to be a Jubliee Baby. If the guesses are right and this little one is due in June/July, then that's right around the time of HM's marking of the 60th Anniversary of her Coronation.
We also have a Christening coming up IIRC. I don't think little Isla's been Christened yet, has she? I'd think we'd hear something about it if she had been. Since there's been nothing mentioned, I've been wondering if Peter and Autumn were waiting for Christmas when everyone would be together at Sandringham.

A Happy 85th Birthday today to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.HM came to throne in 1946, 6 years before HMQ.
Here is video of his Diamond Jubilee in 2006. At 3:25, the parade of royal guests begins, including HRH The Duke of York, TRH The Crown Prince & Crown Princess of Norway, and TIM The Emperor & Empress of Japan. Enjoy!
Somebody is getting fired: Radio DJs make prank call to Catherine's nurse . . . and get through. And the nurse gave them an update on her condition.
In my spare time, I like to interview figure skating legends.

Good riddance!
I'd fire the DJs and the clueless nurse. Them for calling a hospital about someone's medical condition and the nurse for being that gullible. I mean really, wouldn't the Queen be calling someone a little higher up the chain of command for that kind of info? Or rather, call her grandson on his cell and ask him directly?!
I wouldn't blame the nurse entirely - it's the switchboard that put the call through, so the nurse must have thought the call was legit, and who's going to give the Queen a line about patient confidentiality?
I'm glad there's outrage on this. It's one thing to joke around with celebrities, but another when someone is seriously ill and carrying a piece of history in the making. Respect and compassion is the order of the day.
Depending on the stringency of the privacy laws where you live, an employee could indeed be fired for revealing patient information depending on the severity of the breach and the policy at your hospital. Switchboards do their best to triage but they put through all kinds of calls to nursing stations .. it's up to unit clerks/nurses/whoever at the nursing station to triage the calls and provide info or not based on policy. I've had to tell family members of mentally ill individuals that I can't give them any scrap of information about their child/husband/wife, etc., without that person's written consent. It sucks to have to do that but that's the law in my area. Conversely, if I was a patient, I wouldn't want the nurses telling my business to everyone who called either.
I think the arseholes are the people who placed the call in the first place. How would they like their family members' business spread all over the internet and on every news channel worldwide?
(Can I say arsehole on FSU??)
Sure you can - it's almost an endearment around here.Originally Posted by Alixana;3762157
