Bridge collapsed in New Jersey, sending toxic chemicals from train into water

Poor New Jersey! As if they have not gone through enough already! I hope there are no FSUers in the area that is being evacuated.

Vinyl chloride leaking from a tankcar, that's not good.
Is this what it will take to get Congress to realize the seriousness of the "aging infrastructure" problem?

It just so happens that today I am copyediting a manuscript about chlorine-induced lung injury, which mentions train derailments of one cause in humans.

    Yikes!

I remember hearing an interview with someone (?) on NPR talking about how so many bridges in the US are on the verge of collapse.

Not sure who that was, but found this link which should be a nice, cheery read over the morning cereal:

Obama has been trying to invest in our infrastructure, which will create jobs and repair important things like bridges. He is going to need more cooperation (and money).
