I think I took my first skating test when I was about age 35. I'd been skating for a few years before then, and it took me that long to be ready to test!
Today is Doomsday. Alternate side of the street parking will be in effect.
I started skating when I was 37, and took my first test when I was almost 39.
The same as Garr, although I actually passed learn-to-skate twice - once when I was eight and then again when I was 30![]()
I would have been here sooner, but the bus kept stopping for other people to get on it. - Sheldon Cooper, The Big Bang Theory
I took my first skating test (preliminary figures) when I was 13. I didn't test again until my early 30s.
I started Aussie Skate when I was 12, I finished that when I was 13, and passed preliminary when I was 13 also.
I don't remember when I passed pre-preliminary moves, but I passed preliminary when I was 10.
I passed pre-pre moves when I was 12
8 when I started and 35 when I re-started.
I started skating at 27 & took my first dance tests that same year.
I didn't take my first test until I was 22, even thought I've been skating since I was 6. I got all my Canskate badges by 12, then earned several Canfigureskate badges before quitting singles and focusing on synchro when I was 11. At age 22, I tested my Dutch Waltz, and passed my last gold dance the following year. I started testing Skills when I was 23 and passed my gold test when I was 24 or 25. I kept doing synchro until I was 28, and was then off the ice for 3.5 years. I've just started skating again at age 32, and may consider testing again (perhaps Diamond dances or Interpretives).

I was 7 when I passed my first test which was a dance test. I will be 39 when I pass my very last dance test most likely in January. Kind of ironic that I started and will end with a dance test.
You are all so inspiring!
I started testing at 12, quite skating at 16 and then started again at about 23 - taking some dance tests. I have been skating on and off since for 20 years- but not consistently enough to work up to testing. But this year I am determined to take another dance test!
26.
I will be 26, I am doing my first test on Nov 26th. I'll be doing the Dutch Waltz & Canasta Tango!
I passed both the Dutch Waltz & Canasta TangoJust the Baby Blues to go for the Preliminary Dances, and my coach is going to have be work on the Fiesta Tango at the same time too.
