~I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.~ (Charles R. Swindoll)
Robin Cousins because he could teach me how to make the transition to show bizz when I could no longer jump. (I'm thinking beyond the skating career that I don't have).![]()
It would depend on where i was developmentally.
Men with Jumping Issues: Kristy Krall, John Nicks, Mishin.
Men Total package but needs help with packaging: Tarasova/Buinova, John Nicks/Tarasova or Nichol, Mushin/Zueva
Men with artistic issues but good jumping: dunjen/sato ( they have proven ineffective IMO at fixing jumps) Any coach where Tom Dickson worked. Again, Russian coach with Tarasova assisting. I would also like to see a top male skater work with Peter Tchernechev (too lazy to sp check)
Dance Teams...
I would most likely go to Igor Shpilband flat out.
Pairs:
Moskvina- in need of minor tweeks on elements but needs big style change
Sappenfield: Needs help with elements but strong in presentation and style ( her skaters positions, body line etc. are generally mediocre at best) but she teaches elements VERY well.
Johnny Johns/Marina zueva
I've always thought if I had a skater daughter she'd be packed and ready to be sent to John Nicks. You can always tell a Nicks skater. If I had a son he would start out with Mishin. If it were I, I'd go to Mark and Peter.
Coach: Manon Perron
Choreographer: Lori Nichol SP, Tarasova FP
Pairs
Coach: Tatiana Tarasova
Dance: Marina Zoueva

Assuming I'd want to stay in the US
-Singles: Mitchell& Johansson, they seems to have a good approach toward their skaters. Choreography would be Jeffrey Buttle of Stephane Lambiel.
-Pairs: Oleg Vassiliev, Although id keep a good eye on my partnerChoreography would be Peter Tchernyshev or Julie Marcotte.
-Dance: Igor Shpiland, just for the chance to work with Skary Babs :voids: Choreography...hmm,will have to think on that one.
Dance: Platov, but I'd use various choreographers (Dean, Rushpaul, Swan, Zhulin)
Pairs: Steuer
Singles: John Nicks, but with Mishin's summer jumping camp. I guess Buttle for choreography, he's the CoP codewhore master extraordinaire.
Singles- I would go to Mishin or Orser
Pairs- Moskvina
Ice dance- Tarasova or Shpilband
From the very beginning through at least my first Olympics, I would want to learn from Frank. If I had to switch from my coach at the local mall after five or six years, I would want Krall or Orser for singles and Nicks for pairs.
In an alternate universe, there could be worse things than ending up in Mishin's stable, even if I had little choice in the matter.
delete please
how many success did Tarasova had in Pairs coaching ? ironic huh
[QUOTE=aftershocks;3754860]Singles skater: Mark Mitchell and Peter Johansson
Thanks for the name correction aftershocks & my apologies to Peter.
Morozov of course!
Just kidding.
I think I'd need a grumpy old man to kick my ass into line, a kind of father figure my unruly self wouldn't mess with. That means Mishin or Carroll.
But I want choreo by Lambiel or Buttle!
Im pretty sure that Tatiana Tarasova taught Irina Rodnina/Alex Zaitsev and maybe Gordeeva/grinkov.
so she must be pretty good.
Kulik, Orser, and for choreography / politics Tarassova.
Mark Mitchell or Ken Congemi. I wouldn't win anything with either as my coach, both are far toofor me to concentrate. That's OK, I just want a coach who is
