They are so adorable people. I ask them an autograph at the TEB and Eric even speak to me in french with the cutest accent ever. Meagan was a bit disappointed about her mistake (it was after the SP), but she was very available.

We are at post #15 about a Canadian skater and there have been zero comments about how much she/he is over-marked.

LOL. But they are not overmarked. I am seriously thinking they have a great shot at Bronze at GPF and Worlds. They are getting better, more consistent and more interesting all the time. Love them, love their athleticism and their attitude. And I am not Canadian .

Maybe this thread was started because it's about time Meagan got her own thread! Meagan sat behind me at the 2008 Canadian Championships. I wanted to wish her good luck for Worlds, but there didn't seem to be an appropriate time to jump into their conversation. And I got shy. But she seemed very sweet. And pretty.

Yes...Megan is very buff, but still very tiny......and a very pretty girl . She always seems so animated and I find that charming.

I think one of the most endearing qualities about Meagan is that she is as much of a skating fan as she is an accomplished skater!!! You can tell that she loves every aspect of skating so much....she's definitely one of the best ambassadors for the sport!!

While I find they sometimes look slightly junior-ish, I do think that Meagan and Eric have some of (if not THE) best side by side spins in the world today. Their unison is just outstanding.

Seriously though, she sat with a large group of people and I guess it was the first they saw her after her LP skate. So everyone had lots to say and I waited for a break so as to not interrupt and so my latent shyness overcame me eventually. Plus I have not had much (any??) luck approaching skaters at various events.

I've loved Meagan for years, she is a total rock star. I just wish they would do a program that would hilight her spirit and firecracker-ness. And her Chatty Cathy post-skate analysis is always a delight.

Same here. The fan base for skating is small so I believe the federation encourages skaters to interact with fans to develop the sport. As a result, the skaters are usually nice and available. Still, I don't have much to say other than some lame variation of "love your work", which is why I'd rather say nothing rather than strike up an awkward conversation you can't then get out of...lol. It's a chat gift that some people, like me, just don't have.

I heard that Meagan's family is of Finnish origin, that her grandparents left from Finland in 1950's. Never heard that before! I saw her competing in singles in JGPF Helsinki, 2004. Maybe her Finnish relatives were in the audience, cheering for her?

Word from is that Meagan is really tough on Eric, that she really pushes him hard. Since all his other pair partners have been pretty crappy I don't think Eric has a problem with Meagan's intensity. If he does, he hides it well.

I was always afraid Eric would be a wasted talent - he's been one of my very favourites since he won junior nationals in 2004 in singles. Very happy to see him succeeding with a great partner!
