Cher's New Song - Woman's World

What do you think? It's produced (and co-written) by Paul Oakenfold who I believe is one of the world's most famous DJ's (and producer). Some comments I read on wikipedia:

Idolator said that the song was "full of striking synths and a relentlessly slamming beat".

Malene Arpe from The Toronto Star considered the song "kinda great", "kinda awesome and kick-ass and pure Cher".

Gregory Ellwood of HitFix called it "a catchy track that will certainly make her fans happy and could get some gay club play". He gave the song a B+ and stated that he was "just thrilled she can still belt it out like the youngsters out there".

And for fun, I added a Cher poll to this thread. I was going to do a "what's your favourite Cher song", but that'd be too obvious. So I looked over her last ten albums or so and found some tracks that were never released as singles ("Perfection" might have been a single in Europe??) - all of which I happen to LOVE! So maybe instead of this poll being a "what's your favourite non-single of Cher's", I should make the poll question, "what's your favourite Cher song of PeterG's that was never released as a single"? I love Cher but I don't know if I can listen to a woman her age sing about being out on the dance floor and not laugh. It is just too much. Making dance music is one thing but singing about enjoying that music on a wild night out is just not believable.

I'm thinking Cher could probably outlast a few young'n's on the dance floor. Cher has never been your average woman -- at any age!

Surprised that Cher is still singing. Good on her! I'd pick Heart of Stone.

Heart of Stone is one of my all-time favourite Cher songs. I didn't include it in the poll because it was a single of hers, doing quite well for a third single (from the album of the same name) and not being as poppy as some of her other singles. And she has arguably never looked better than in this video. Stunning!

As for Cher still singing, what's that old joke? Something like "What's the only thing that will survive a nuclear war?" (Answer: cockroaches and Cher.)

But i have to agree - Cher - when was the last time you went out to a club? Surely there are other themes that can be used lyrically in a pop/dance hit than being "on da floor"?
