Extending my deepest condolences to Mr. Chataigneau's family and friends. While I never really consciously knew about him in life, I have been touched by many of his photographs, so I now feel I know something of his heart. He will be missed but a wonderful part of him remains behind.

This is a big loss. One of the best fs photographers and a lovely person. Sympathies to his family.

Definitely shocking news Gerard's work will live on through his photographs, thank goodness! His photographs were always superb as evidenced in the Figure Skating Calendar and his books. His kindness, his talent, and his love for the sport are well known and have been expressed eloquently in the many posts in the guest book at the funeral home.
Can't skate but love to watch

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. He truly had a gorgeous *eye* for skating photography and it such a true loss for the entire community. I'm even now looking at some of his work, as this year's Figure Skating Calendar is w/in eye sight of where my laptop is and it's a truly wonderful picture of Dai gracing November.

My condolences and thoughts to his Family and Friends.

We truly lost a talented man and the sport was so lucky to have him as one of the gifted people who helped to record the History of Skating through his lens. May he rest in peace.
