    I didn't say he is a better skater. He can do 3 clean quads in an LP however, and will be rewarded highly for those. Plushenko at this point is older, injured, and we don't know what shape he will be in, in 2014. He will be beatable. It's not going to be like 2006. However, he has the strongest mind of all. If anyone wants to beat him, will have to skate nearly clean in both SP & LP. That's how Lysacek did it in 2010. IMO Chan has the best chance of beating Plushenko in 2014, because of his superior basic skating, even if he makes a few mistakes. I will be thrilled just to see Plushenko compete in Sochi, in both SP and LP. What an achievement that would be, with or without a medal!

    As reported on the athlete’s official website, his current wife - producer Yana Rudkovskaya – on Sunday gave birth to a son - Alexander.
