Thank you!
If only I hadn't gone over my data limit for the month!
But I'll be watching live scoring anyway (if it works).
I want Plushy to win his 10th National title! (But I also want Artur to win his first - can it be a tie?)
No video yet, but Plushy finished first in the SP with 91.68. He landed 4t-2t, 3A, and 3Z.![]()
YESSSS!

Plushy just won his tenth RN title!!!
Well lets just be honest and say all he had to do was show up to win considering his competition.
Maybe, but he didn't just show up - he landed a quad and two 3A. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fydd6Pjjho0 He may be able to win another European title with that.
In order to win he had to beat Voronov who did two clean programs with quads, and many of the other men landed quads. It wasn't the most difficult competition, but it was a high level for a National championship.
Plushy was fantastic at the Russian nationals. I have not seen his SP yet, but I swooned over his LP. This, after 'not feeling his legs in warmup'- incredible.
I will keep my fingers crossed that he continues to improve his health and is in top shape for the 2014 Olympics. If he wins a medal there, it's going to be historic.
I can't wait the Euros.. he said :
"We have several options of the long program, and in one of them 70% of jumps are in the second half. Naturally, in the championship of Russia, I did not skate it. Still it looks more interesting, and I hope to skate it in the Europeans. And, of course, there is a second quad in it (smiles)! Without this, it will be difficult to win."
This is very important he changed his jumps in 4-4 layout , in JO was 6:2 !!! 4 jumps with no preparation and not on the corners of the arena!! So he worked so much and so hard..
Thank you for pointing that out! I never notice stuff like that (I like frontloaded programs, because it's less stressful as a fan). I was just happy to see him doing a 3 jump combo, lol. He really has it together this season in terms of addressing each and every critique of his skating.
Wow that lp was just AWESOME! I don't think anyone these days can beat Mr Plush! Wow! and wow again! Whee!
I don't think Fernandez is a better skater..Fernandez said in Spanish radio
http://www.ivoox.com/javier-fernande...1671416_1.html
Javier Fernández, en El Partido de las 12: "Plushenko es el Cristiano Ronaldo del patinaje"
Fernandez mentions Plushy as: "Cristiano Ronaldo of skating"
Maybe the North-Americans don't know who is C. Ronaldo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristiano_Ronaldo
He is one of the best, popular soccer player now, and of all time
Surprised Javier would mention Ronaldo who is from Portugal and not someone from the champion Spanish national team.Nice compliment though!
Euros will be interesting. Plushy's National score is about 7 points above Javi at GPF, but of course the nationals can be inflated so it's hard to say. Last year, Plush actually did better at Euros (261.23) than Nationals (259.67). I don't think he would beat Javi if he does two clean programs, but Javi's inconsistency will open the door. I was stunned when he managed not to medal at Euros last year after such a strong Grand Prix.
Cristiano Ronaldo, being Portuguese but playing for Real Madrid, sort gets universally accepted. The tabloids certainly thinking he is the best Iberia has to offer.
I am in the K&C at the 1980 Olympics telling Frank Carroll he will have a male skater from KAZ with a 4T, 3A-3T and a World Silver going into the 2014 Olympics ...
