Darn it, I wish they showed junior dance at Eastern intead of Zamboni. There were some good short dances there going by the scores. http://www.usfigureskating.org/leade...019SEG036.html

I guess Joy Jin (intermediate) withdrew from PACS? :/ I was really looking forward to seeing her. Last competition I saw her name in was 2009 junior nationals.

Oltmanns/Santillian seemed a lot more 'together' than the other pairs, and even with her singling her axel and a hand down on the 3sal, they clearly skated with more attack and ice coverage -and better unison. Shaughnessy/Morgan have good potential, though as do Fujimoto/Barsi-Rhyne. Think it was a wise decision on both their parts to go for throw doubles and skate fairly clean.

Doherty/Norris skated cautiously after the fall on their throw 3sal, which is a shame since the program would look great with their patterns filled out. Couple of issues on their SBS spins and death spiral, as well.
McDougal/Schatz start out giving each other pound, and then a big 2twist in the actual program. Already better ice coverage and edges in their ftwk. Went for SBS 3toes, she got hers not sure if he doubled or not. Throw 2sal and a secure, fast back press lift to one hand.
Belt/Johnson and The Artist sndtk. Double twist, sbs 2flips (I think) and a throw 2sal. Small-ish pairs elements, but good flow and spins

    Savary WD? That's disappointing.

God, Sarah and Tonia couldn't be worse at this....

Yeah, I forgot about this and am just tuning in. I'm trying to look on the bright side that it's nice to hear people talk about skating. But it's a little to listen to.

    Eastern sectionals senior men short.
Choate stepped out of 3-3. He reminds me of Bradley, esp with his choice of music. score 64.08

Choate stepped out of his 3Lz+3T, then landed 3F and 2A in second half - lots of energy in his Latin medley SP!

I'm not surprised Emmanuel Savary WD - he competed very early in the season (May) and hasn't competed since AFAIK, reportedly due to injury. Hope he will recover fully for next season.

I got Daniel Raad with the feed freezing every other second. How did he skate?

First 3axel of the day from Aiken! Ugh, and now down on his 3lutz 3flip was nice, though

ETA: If you put your free leg down to stabilize yourself when you try to do a jumpover during a combo spin, does it invalidate all the positions that follow or 'just' count towards -GOE? He basically had to restart the whole spin afterwards.

Alexander Aiken did 3A, but down on lutz and didn't add a combo to his solo 3. Scores will hurt a bit.
    ETA: 52.18

    ETA: Scores at http://www.usfigureskating.org/leade...7/results.html

    Next: Timothy Dolensky

    Dolensky - no 3A, only 3 loop/2t. Pleasant program though! Good spins. 60.08 2nd

Not the hardest jumps (2 axel, 3loop 2toe with arms over his head, tano 3lutz), but good spins and actually used his music -not just during fwtk.

ETA: jlai, I'm waiting for us to get to a program we actually disagree on .

Dolensky landed 3A in his SP in the Salt Lake Sr B so I think his goal was to skate clean today.

Ah, good to know he has one. He's set himself nicely for the LP based on this short.

Is it wrong I'd rather watch men's warm-up instead of this:?

Aww poor little juvenile dancers, rejected for the men's warmup.

And we're back with the men's SP and being treated to RFAD.
