has anyone heard how Nan Song is? He apparently collided with Adam Rippon in warmup, they both fell and Song was carried off the ice on a stretcher. Hope he is alright.

From FSOnline.ru: Song: a broken tooth and perhaps a concussion. Rippon has pains in his jaw
oh that's too bad.. Rippon likely also suffered a concussion if his jaw is painful too.. hope they both rest up for the rest of the season..

(((Song and Rippon)))
I wish speed recovery Nang Song and Adam! Adam did a good practice today landed 3a-3t, several 3a. The program he skated in the morning looked nice and fresh. I think he was very affected by this crash mentally and physically. Voronov said at presser that he and his skating was affected too because he saw how it happened.
They said on the CBC broadcast that Song has a concussion.
There was a minor collision in the Skate Canada gala practice, iirc. I forget who was involved (Oda and Javi?) and it certainly wasn't this serious. But it's scary stuff and amazing that it doesn't happen more often, frankly.

Nan Song was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a concussion. He was to be released today (Sunday) and should rest for two weeks I heard this morning. I don't think we'll see him in Paris for Trophee Bompard.
I saw a clip on youtube of the collision. At first glance it actually didn't look that serious, but when a skater has trouble getting off the ice you know it is pretty bad. Song looked like he hit the ice really hard on his backside which a coach told me can also lead to concussion too because of the richochetting of the impact up the spine.
What the hell is a Ninja Twizzle? Does it have anything to do with hard shelled aquatic life forms that live in the sewer?
Oh ouch. Hoping for a speedy recovery for both.
And on the subject of the youtube clip, MAJOR props to Adam for grabbing Nan and trying to break his fall.
Wondering how Adam is doing. In spite of him throwing up his arms to try to soften the collision between the two, it looks like he got quite the head butt as well. Hope both of them will be OK soon.
BARK LESS. WAG MORE.
(((SONG Nan))) Fans reported that he attended the CoC banquet with neck support, but was in good spirits. SONG Nan had 2 weibo posts on 11/3: "I cannot remember anything, what happened to me?" and "Can someone tell me what happened?"
Brief translation of Sina sports interview:
When interviewed in the hotel, SONG Nan said the injury was diagnosed as a concussion with temporary amnesia, but if the recovery goes well, he still wants to compete at TEB.
ISU CoC press center posted an announcement that SONG Nan stayed in the hospital overnight and was discharged on Sunday, he needs to rest for 14 days.
During the interview, SONG wore white chin/neck support, but was in good spirits. He said the neck is not injured, doctors did not say for how long he should wear the chin/neck support. No major problem diagnosed, only concussion. He became sober about 3am and totally could not remember how the accident happened. He kept asking the team doctor whether he competed and how did he finish. He later watched the video clip of collision, and the first area hit was probably the right chin. On the video he briefly talked to the medical staff, but he cannot remember it at all. Right now his teeth have some broken pieces which affect eating and talking.
The collision forced SONG Nan to withdraw from the competition, but he said he was able to accept it. "Maybe everyone was highly concentrated during the competition, and accidents happen." When asked whether he will stop training and competing in the next two weeks, he said: "Probably not, I think the doctor was conservative. If there is not much of a problem, I can try to remove the chin/neck support and adapt to training. There are competitions coming up, if recovery goes well I will participate in TEB. The pre-Olympic season is very important, but it has been a bumpy year for me. "
Finally, SONG Nan asked his fans not to worry, "currently my chin hurts a bit and the back of the head feels very heavy, but there should not be any problem."

They collide at 0:25 and it's shown in slo-mo at 2:35. To me it looks like Song stops but Rippon just keeps on going...instead of stopping or swerving to the left or right. It just looks strange as if Rippon thought he wasn't going fast enough for a collision to be a problem.![]()
I'm off to the Patrick Chan threads...where you can watch a molehill become a mountain in seconds!!!
On-ice collisions happen too fast, and both sides need to make the right decision to avoid the accident. I am just glad Song has not suffered a serious injury and wish him speedy recovery.
Oh my, the video of the collision was hard to watch. It seemed like it took forever for someone to come help Song.
At these events do they have medical personnel available to the skaters?
Wishing Song a speedy recovery
No skater wants to collide with someone, especially on a warm up. It's a split second decision and I'm sure Adam did absolutely everything he could to avoid it in that moment. Sometimes on warmups especially you're too in your head and your reaction time is slowed, but even in perfect circumstances things like this can happen. Wishing them both all the best.
