    Crystal Skate

Does anybody know anything about this event? I think the results are going to be posted here: http://www.frp.ro/?p=rezultate-artistic-2012 but I'm not sure.

As they only have the long programs to go I'd say we're not going to see any results until it is all over. In fact, I haven't even been able to find a list of competitors.

The website does have a live feed of the actual event but there is no sound and the vision is low quality.

Crystal skate is always the most obscure Senior B event of the year. Entries and Results are always found out late . Dunno why I&K chose to go there instead of cup of nice.

Maybe because they wanted a REALLY high score.

Here's their Crystal Skate score compared with other scores so far in the GP:

    176.28 Davis/White
    174.56 Ilinikh / Katsalapov
    169.73 Pechalat / Bourzat
    169.41 Virtue / Moir
    160.06 Cappellini / Lanotte
    159.95 Bobrova / Soloviev
    158.97 Weaver / Poje

Probably but that's whats gonna happen in any senior B with a top elite team competing.

Surely you are not implying that they knew how it will be scored? There are events that are scored more generously and events that are tough, but no one ever knows in advance what the judges will be like!

Thank you for posting the scores, Eislauffan. Nice to see the Philippines get gold in an international comp!

This also means Sabina Mariuta will do Euros and Worlds this season (if she gets the minimum score for the second one). Denisa Sandu was out with an ankle injury, but she might get to go to Junior Worlds depending on how fast she can get back on the ice.

Results (separate for SP/SD and FS/FD) are available on the website of the Romanian Federation, but no detailed protocols:
    http://www.frp.ro/

You have to click on the "aici" in that line on top of the page: Rezultatele concursului Crystal Skate pot fi descarcate de aici.

I wonder if any of these people managed to meet the required World minimum scores. Especially MICHAEL CRISTIAN MARTINEZ.

Ilia has taught Michael periodically (when Michael can be in the US) for about 3 years. A quote from Ilia about Michael (said to the Krew), "It took me 3 years to get a triple axel, it took him 35 tries." A very talented young man - also apparently a really good kid (and that counts for alot!)

From the Martinez article linked above: "He is but two points shy of earning a berth in the World Championship to be held sometime in March 2013."

Re-posting an edited version of a post in GSD:

The official [Crystal Skate] protocols list his FS elements as:

    1 MICHAEL CRISTIAN MARTINEZ PHI 7 125.75 67.07 58.68 0.00

I assume the detailed protocols are now available online at this link? (I can't open it right now.)

Just found all the detailed protocols published on the ISU site as a 244-page PDF document: http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=4017
