Re: Virtue and Moir #21 - Carry On as the Waltz Goes On

Someone mentioned that their TES was not enough to qualify for Worlds. Is this true? I'm not worried about this because I don't see them scoring such a low TES again *knock on wood*, but I'm curious.

Nvm, I see where he hits her, still can't see it actually happen - hope footage comes up.
This footage (I think at the 52-55 sec mark) gives a slightly better angle, still not as good as a camera angle as the recap during the live telecast.

Are you able to see it now?

I agree with you. I think they could change lift - dont care about this and work on there leveks, but hope they will save this choreo. Unusuall body moves from Tessa - love it.
And i am sure they wiil work on speed and power, like they always made during the season and this SD will look different.
Did they need to show there maxinmum now? I dont think so.
By the way, i like what Anna said, when she was asked they are so close to World champions Yes, good luck to them all.

She has to wear a dress/skirt, according to the rules. I was expecting/hoping it would be black.

The Farrucas moment must have been super funny.

So why pair skaters could skate without skirt/dress?

No idea. But I remember it from 2009, when Tessa had to have a skirt in the black Pink Floyd outfit. I don't think the rules changed in the meantime.

Yes, i know. But i find this rule stupid. We all remeber Caro LP outfit from lasy season ot Alyona Savchenko outfit in SP this season.

Pink Floyd-style outfit fits for the Carmen perfectly .

It is true that with the problems last night, they did not meet the minimum, but they did so many, many times last year, so they're good to go for Worlds.

I've decided Skate Canada is just a cursed for them If they weren't Canadian they'd probably ditch it. 2009 OD was a disaster, last year they fell, this year the lift. But it bothers me when they don't seem to no what all the deductions are for. When you make a mistake like the lift it's easy to understand but they seem confused. Same thing last season, both them and D/W had troubles during the season with levels and neither seemed to fully grasp what the problem was. Luckily it all worked out in the end but it must be frustrating if others have told you its all good.

Anyway I am in love with this SD. Who knew the choice of polka would be so great? I think it's different from alot of the other SD we've seen because it's more mellow, elegant and alot of the others are more fun, entertaining in that knee slapping, yee haw sorta way, if you know what I mean, more of what you expect polka to be. I think V/M's is wonderfully unique, and unexpected and I hope it gets fully appreciated. It really is gorgeous IMO. Yes polkas can be gorgeous.

Thank you! Amazing how it looks pretty bad from that angle, but like nothing from the other.

I feel like it's something out of a fairytale... maybe they were inspired by shows like "Once Upon a Time".... they need to be asked more questions about the storyline! I think it would be interesting if Scott portrayed someone a little bit evil who seduces the troubled girl, somewhat like DomShabs Masquerade Waltz, but it seems they are playing it "straight"....
