My daughter's coach (not ice) passed away this week and I told her today. She is just a kid and said she wanted to go to the service and just a few minutes ago she said she is just going to write a letter and doesn't want to go. I told her she doesn't have to decide at all right now and can just miss him without worrying about deciding. She is so sad, he has been her private coach for the past 4 years and was like a grandfather to her.
It hurts, but it hurts extra to see your kid hurting.
