Memorable Short Programs
Short programs don't always stay with us because they don't determine the final outcome. Yet some short programs are so memorable that you remember them for many years.
Here is my list.
Berezhnaya-Sikharulidze: Lady Caliph (2002 Oly), Meadowland(2001 worlds), Swan Lake(1998 Euro)
Mishkutenok-Dmitriev: Don Quixote 94 Oly
Gordeeva-Grinkov: 94 Oly
Totmianina- Marinin: Ave Maria (2005 worlds), Snowstorm (2006 Oly)

Irina Slutskaya- 2002 Oly (Schubert)
Yuka Sato -1994 worlds

Johnny Weir - 2006 The Swan
Matt Savoie 2006 US Nationals
Jeremy Abbott- 2010 & 2012 US Nationals
Petrenko- 1992 Oly
I loved Plushenko's short at the 2006 Olympics. His technical elements were all so superb, even if the presentation wasnt extra special.
I loved Barna's short programs at the 1991 and 1992 Worlds. It was the same program and perfect for his skating and style, and received a perfect 6.0 for artistic impression both times and well deserved. A sharp contrast to his longs which were always boring and ponderous (not to mention technically deficient).
Kurt Browning 1994 SP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mRiLdJbplY
Angela Nikodinov 2001 SP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5p3zrEI7N0
Midori Ito 1988 SP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wl3PelmX05M
Berezhnaya&Sikharulidze 2001 SP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3mFOfy_J-Q
Jeremy Abbott 2011 SP : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ_Ynu6hlEI
Joannie Rochette 2004 Worlds SP.
G&G 1987 and 1988 and 1994 SP.
And many more !
gordeeva/grinkov 87 and 89 sp
I would also include Brian Boitano's 1988 SP and Selezneva & Makarov's 1990 SP.
Caryn Kadavy - 1988 Olympic SP. Choregraphy by Burka (took her about 90 minutes to "throw it together") and costume by Toller.
This was a true CoP SP waaaaaaaay before CoP. Notice all the transitions and footwork into and out of jumps and spins, the features she put into the spins, etc. Superb.
Midori Ito, 91 Worlds. It was a very good SP for Ito, choreographically, and the falling into the camera pit after the jump combination cemented it as unforgettable. I wish she had re-use this SP for Albertville.
Yagudin's Race Car SP. That has to be my favorite SP of his.
- Rep Power
Kristi Yamaguchi Blue Danube
Another I'd include is Michelle Kwan's Carmen SP at 1999 US Nationals. She used unusual cuts of the music and the choreography matched the nuances so well IMO. I never saw this program until a couple years ago but I really love it.
B/Z 'lady caliph' (as mentioned above) is absolutely stunning!!!
also like s/s 'send in the clowns'
and my favourite short progam ever:
miki ando´s 2006 olympic short program 'merry christmas, mr. lawrence'
so sad she couldn´t deliver it.
this is absolutely great!
Nathalie Krieg - 1994 Olys. She was such a good spinner!
I liked that program. Her spin combo at the end is fantastic!

maybe i am the only one who would like to have seen trankov hanging around with mukhortova, but this sp was pehnomenal.
Michelle Kwan ´A day in the life´ and ´Dream Of Desdemona´
Irina Slutskaya 2001
Maria Butyrskaya ´Scene d´amour´
Sasha Cohen 2000
Mishkutenok-Dmitriev ´Don Quixote´
Alongside Jeff's 2005 World's SP, I would add his 2002 World's SP:
The Last Emperor's soundtrack is so gorgeous. Would love more skaters to use it.
