I'm going to twizzle into a triple axel and spiral out of it.
Idk - watching that video actually makes me realize how much they've improved! The performance was phenomenal but I had forgotten how hunched over Meryl would often be, or how poor the flow would sometimes be throughout their step sequences. Perhaps their performance of the program warranted a podium placement, but they have improved exponentially since that season and that is why they are on the podium now.

Her Requiem - every time she skated this program,, but this performance was spectacular

^ Their not being on the World podium in 2009 was a travesty!
Midori Ito - 1988 Olympics free skate - just brilliant - if there hadn't been compulsory figures back then, I don't doubt that she would have been on the podium.
Todd E. @ 2002 Olympics - the free skate to "Lord of the Rings." Sadly, he was out of medal contention after the SP, but his free skate was phenomenal (I don't care about/obsess over quads).

ITA Ryan Jahnke, and Todd's final Olympic performance!
Yes, definitely. I watched this at the apartment of a fellow FSUer and another FSUer who is now deceased. When Tanja skated we all were like "WHAT?!?!?!" She skated out of her mind and body, and could have won the GPF. Unfortunately Tara had a response, and it was "Zu schlechtes Weibchen".
I never thought she had the 3flip, or a consistent lutz, but she totally brought it. I love this performance, and the memory of sharing it with my skating friends. Love you both.
I will not be ignored! -Me
I wish I could have seen Shen/Zhao's 03 worlds free skate in person....
I was too young for Tanja Szewczenko and Zhengxin Guo but they really had some potential, especially the latter! Wonder what would have happened if they lived up to their potentials.
