More Lindsay Lohan drama

Will someone who knows anything about California law tell me why this woman is not in jail? She is still on probation, who knows for what, I think this time it's for theft, yet she gets arrested and charged with more crimes and somehow she's still able to hang out in NY. I'm not a lawyer, but I do know a couple of people who have been put on probation. But maybe Texas is much tougher on crime that California. The two people I know who have been on probation had to act like total angels, and were not allowed to leave the state. Actually one wasn't even allowed to leave the county. Another person I know of, not friends with, had a DUI and couldn't leave the state, and he had a really good job that required him to travel, and he lost his job because the courts would not let him leave the state. They were also forbidden to consume alcohol, or even be inside a bar or club. All these things Lohan has done. I'm losing my patience with the California court system. Lohan has sailed through all these probations breaking them left and right and yet she's still a free woman? I wish someone could explain this to me.

For her own good, she needs a wakeup call. Six months in jail is a good start.

Oh, in case you didn't hear, Lohan was arrested last night for assault for punching someone. Allegedly she was drunk and high on something.

Is the explanation for this the usual overcrowded jails excuse? It seems to me that she should be on heavily supervised probation or house arrest at this point. At the very least.

I can't even imagine what her monthly meetings with her probation officer are like. "Oh yeah, I broke my probation a couple of times, got arrested, but other than that I've been fully compliant to the conditions of my probation." "Oh really, Ms. Lohan? How nice. See you in a month."

Reading more about the altercation, Lindsay apparently was approached by this woman who claims to be a psychic and offered to give LiLo a free spiritual reading. LiLo brushed her off and called her a Fn Gypsy, which they perceived to be racist. Is calling someone a gypsy really a racist term? I don't think I've ever called someone a gypsy, but if I had it wasn't meant to be racist, just a description (shady, steals your money). Since when is 'gypsy' a race?

It is an ethnic group. One that was targeted in the Holocaust and still experiences discrimination. So, yes, it was a poor choice of words. And your characterization of the word as meaning someone "shady" is a stereotype. More info:

I don't get why she's always getting into trouble. It's not that hard to stay out of trouble! But apparently it's a huge deal for her if she DOESN'T get arrested for something. Yeesh!

Exactly. She's an absolute mess. And there's nobody in her world that wants to help her, it seems. Her parents are too busy making money off of her to care enough about her to help. She's a lost cause. I fully expect to see a major catastrophe headline in her future.

I *think* that her mother Dina is still her manager. And her father sells his contributions on LiLo to the media for major $$$$, allegedly.

It seems that LiLo just might accept rehab for six months to avoid jail. I say, give her the jail time for six months. Prisons have drug abuse treatment. Let her sleep in a crappy bed for six months and not be able to drink or coke up. Rehab is BS for her. How many times has she pulled this to get out of her crimes? Send her to prison. That's rehab.

Which doesn't excuse it. Fortunetelling is directly associated with the Gypsies - it was one of their means of livelihood as an oppressed and nomadic people. Much like saying 'Jew moneylender'
