It's not Rob Thomas's voice that annoys me. I agree, he's a great singer, but his lyrics are so whiny. He should have gotten over wanna-be emo kidling a decade ago.

Aww, I like both of these singers. I'll probably be wrong, but I'm pretty sure for Xtina, Hernandez is fodder, and I think for Blake, she would have been an actual player.

The steal makes a strategic difference this season. In the past, the two "battlers" had to really compete against each other and out sing the other. Now, I think the advantage is to really work together to make the entire performance outstanding because you have a chance of staying in if the other judges like the whole package.

Nathalie has a Rita Coolidge sound to her voice.

Hernandez's stockings were not a good idea. She might have been better served waiting a few years before trying out.

I love Hernandez, but I'd go with Aquille. I'm not sure the song did either justice, but Aquille has better presence to pull it off.

Xtina has a plethora of teen pop singers. She's wheedling them down to her select few. Nathalie has a very good voice and she really learned from Xtina. I hope the show will give her a good boost. I'd like to see how good she will be in a couple of years.

I'd totally match similar abilities. It's also While I get that each coach has a certain sound they like/can work with, there are lots of variations within each genre. You don't need two people that can sing sad songs well. You don't need two belters. They'd split the vote. You want the belter on your team to go against the belter on someone else's. It would be a shame if in a season the best singer lost because there were too many other contestants that were too similar...especially on your team!

I didn't know Xtina had so many.. and yes I guess it does make sense to match similar abilities - just seems a shame when one doesn't go through..

I think he put them against each other because of the dual color hair. But it looks like whoever loses gets the chance to be the new Blake quirky singer or Cee Lo objectified girl.

I hate that breathy vocal stuff. But I also am not a fan of Florence Lite.
