I don't think Rockne was ever engaged to Valentina -- just to Stefania.
I think I will have a snack and take a nap before I eat and go to sleep.

Do we reckon Hotarek will get the shaft for Brubaker?

Not criticising at all, since I completely agreed prior to the competition but can we just take a moment to credit Chafik at worlds!

Top 10 with an uber 90's program
Top 10 with a coach who hasn't aged since the mid 90's (Annick )
If The French fed actually put some faith in Chafik and direct him towards improved programs and more polish, I see no reason why he can't crack the top 6.
Really nice quiet and reserved debut that COULD go somewhere towards the podium.

Considering they've been engaged for over a year, and presumably dating for a while before then, i doubt they'd suddenly decide they just had to skate together and sit a year out until they get a country.

Plus Brubaker would still be short

Brubaker's too short as a pairs partner for her.

I know, I was so surprised and pleased when Chafik blew away his old PB and pulled off that top ten finish! Really cool achievement for him at his first Worlds, and it means he can go again next year, which he absolutely deserves. I hope he can continue improving.

Besseghier's break-dancing choreography was one of the best moments of 2014 Worlds. VOIDS! Well done to him for absolutely incredible performances and I hope that the eville French Fed is going to invest more in him now. The jumps are finally happening for him and he needs more polishing now to make the next step.

He switched coach only 1 month before Worlds. Before joining Annick, he was with the other training center in Paris-Bercy. Annick now has Romain Ponsart and Chafik B., who are going to battle for sports at Euros and Worlds in the next seasons. Brian and Florent did not stay with Annick very long. They quickly figured out that there are much better coaches out there.

This is the best I can do. There is a video but the quality was so poor that I had to wait for them to announce her name to be sure that it was really her.

Me too. Last I heard she's been suffering from injuries. It is a real shame because she looked very promising a couple of seasons ago.

First videos of Brian Joubert doing pairs are being posted on Facebook by Jean-Francois Ballester. After Aliona, the new guest star in Caen is Brian!
Who's the lucky lady from the short videos where we see them try sbs 3S or 3Lo? (Someone guessed Popova on the French forum..my guess is Flora Leblanc)

Some links to what kirkbiggestfan is referencing above:

    pairs camel spin: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=765151306858137
side by side triples: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=765149146858353 He clearly did a triple toe, but it looks like she did a triple salchow.

The videos are from Caen and posted by Jean Francois Ballester, who was Popova and Massot's coach. Hard to tell for sure given the video quality, but I think that's Daria Popova with him.

Joubert and Popova would certainly be one of the most worthy pairs teams physically, that's for sure.

So the Joubert wanting to skate pairs thing he's been saying for the last 10 years was real? Cool.

He's been saying that he wants the experience so that he can also coach pairs in the future. I don't see how he can work up to competition form, though, especially given that he's had back problems in recent years. But they could do shows, I guess

Or maybe they were just trying some stuff for fun?
